A great place to head to for viewing a sunset, particularly late in the summer. Can get crowded and cold, so wrap up warm later in the year, and expect to queue to get a photo opportunity.

Sooo, I went midday...during the week, no one was there. I had literally an hour to take all the pictures I wanted from all sides. It is breathtakingly beautiful! A must see!

This sculpture is a short walk from Harpa or the city center along the harbor. A beautiful sculpture with an amazing backdrop.

Walked from the centre of Reykjavik to see this sculpture & it was well worth the cold walk. The Sun Voyager makes a great subject for photographs with the bay and mountains beyond as a backdrop. Only problem was because of the cold wind I had to put my gloves back on after taking a few photos!

This beautiful stainless steel sculpture is based on a Viking long ship. Even if you have no interest in sculpture this one is worth checking out. It looks different every day in different lights and seasons. Situated right by the sea and on a clever reflective surface, it is usually surrounded by photographers.

The sculpture is a beautiful piece of artwork. It is well worth a stop for some awesome photos, both of the sculpture and of the mountains in the background. Sunset is a good time to visit

I really love urban sculpture...and this was just brilliant. its a short stroll from laugavagur, so you will be back in one of the many bars in no time, don't fret! and you will feel all the better for that healthy 10 minute walk in the sea breeze that brings tears to your eyes its so cold! the sculpture is... Seeing this sculpture was one of my 'must do's' on my visit to Reykjavik and I was not disappointed. The sculpture sits on the edge of the esplande with a backdrop of the mountians and is absolutely stunning. If you get a clear day the sun shines on the metal and provides beautiful reflective effects and works so well in... More

It is a viking boat skeleton along the road in northern Reykjavik. The place is a nice scenario with the mountains in the background or even better if there is an aurora in the sky. It's worth visiting, but the sculpture itself is just ok.
