We visited this on a very cold, bright and windy day so it was breathtaking literally as well as being very poignant in terms of a vision of the future.

The structure is beautiful, as is the location. However there isn't much to see. Don't go out of your way for a visit but definitely stop if you are passing. We did happen to visit mid storm and the weather was very poor.

worth the walk from wherever you are in town. Combine with visit to Concert Hall and then head back into the oldest part of Reykjavik for a cozy dinner

very cold, sunny day in January, a short walk from the main shopping street or concert hall. Excellent for taking photographs with the backdrop of the bay and snow covered mountains behind. The text that goes with the sculpture is thought provoking. A word of caution, the sculpture is on a shinny polished surface and on the day we visited... More

Lovely sculpture and It's one of the symbols of Reykjavik. No matter when you visit it, there will be some tourists taking photos. It's located in the city centre and it takes only five minutes to walk from the harbour.

Forget the expensive boat tours; just head down to the waterfront and stand beside the Sun Voyager to have a good view of the Northern Lights. The view is almost due north and the sky ahead is mostly dark. It doesn't compare to heading away from the city lights, but it certainly is less expensive. The sculpture itself is certainly... More

You know that feeling when you are just walking around and stumble upon something cool? Well, this sculpture was that for me. Here I am, minding my own business getting lost, and decide to 'head towards the water'. My friend and I hung out for a bit, taking in the scenery of the water and Viking sculpture, chatting with other... More

On a cold January morning we took a walk down to the shore walk and came across this beautiful sculpture as the sun was rising around 10:45am. The sun rises behind it and it made for some superb photos.
