My husband and I wanted to see puffins so badly while we were in Iceland for 2 weeks. We went on one tour earlier in our trip, but didn't get to see puffins close up. If you want to see puffins, then you must go to Vigur Island. West Tours staff was awesome. You really need to book this trip... More

Our ship could not dock at Isafjord due to weather. Four of us had pre-booked and prepaid for an all-day tour with West Tours. Upon our return home yhey promptly refunded 100% of our money. We won't forget that next time. Other two ports in Iceland were awesome.

Ten of us had booked their listed tour called “The Beautiful Waterfall Dynjandi.” Our transportation arrived on time but had a different tour company name on the van rather than the name of the tour company we booked with. The driver never introduced himself to the passengers. There was a microphone in the vehicle for the driver/guide to use to... More

Enjoyed the visit to Vigur Island. Guide very good, pity about the weather. Plenty of terns to photograph, but you need a stick to wave or else they may peck your head! Excellent refreshments.

I did a 4-day hike with two other people in Hornstrandir with West Tours in July. Jon was the guide and he was by far the most experienced and skilled outdoorsman I have ever backpacked with. I felt completely confident in his leadership and I learned A TON from him about the area, wildlife, flora & fauna, glaciers, local mythology,... More

We used West Tours for a guided day hike in the Hornstrandir Reserve. The boat ride there was exhilarating; the guide was great as was the hike. My only complaint is that a separate group of 15 had signed up for the same hike that day, so we hiked in a group of over 20, which is far to many... More

I did a 3 hour trip to Vigur. Beautiful small island with only 2 permanent residents and thousands of birds, including the aggressive-protective arctic Stern. I won't spoil the anecdotes told by our excellent guide but the bird-life is excellent and probably even more impressive if the weather is good (we had strong showers so we weren't able to stay... I used West Tours to book a visit to Hesteyri in the Hornstrandir peninsula, staying at the Doctors House and would thoroughly recommend them as friendly and efficient, offering excellent value for money. Contact was initially made via email after perusing their website for timetables and price information, and this was followed up by a phone call to confirm the... More

This trip was fantastic! It was a 2.5 hour tour (for about $85 per person), and we were the only two. The guides were super flexible and friendly - we were a little bit late, and they were completely understanding about it. The horses were sweet and good-natured (and very different than American horses - try this if you have... More

The price of about $200 per person includes 1. a 1 hour boat trip in an excellent boat from Isalfjordur to Hesteri, 2. a beautiful 12 km or so guided hike through beautiful, often bog like, irregular, terrain, across an uninhabited peninsula with quaint, restored and unpopulated villages at beginning and end 3. about 2 hour return boat tour through...
