It was a little chilly but luckily they provide you with something warmer to wear. Loved the guides on the boat. We took a 4 hour puffins, sails and whales tour and it was great! Felt good to be out on the water ;)

With the focus on whale watching North Sailing has branched out and runs restaurant Gamli Baukur and Café Skuld, both situated in the harbour area.North Sailing owns and operates six traditional Icelandic oak boats which are environmentally friendly and moreover preserve national heritage that otherwise would be lost.North Sailing aims to enable visitors to experience the marvellous nature at the edge of the arctic for times to come.The schooners of North Sailing are descendants of the first decked sailing vessels in north Iceland in the 19th century. The knowledge and know-how of handling and maintaining gaff rigged ships had been all but lost in Iceland. The schooners of North Sailing are now the only active vessels of its kind along Icelandic shores.North Sailing has made an effort to rekindle relations with sailors of other North Atlantic nations. Húsavík has now become a destination port for sailing vessels exploring subarctic waters. Among them are the majestic gaff rigged ships Dagmar Aaen, owned by Arved Fuchs and the Greenland explorer Activ.

The is definitely something you have to do when in Iceland. I am not that good on choppy water, but absolutely had to do this. We reserved with North Sailing in Olafsfjordur instead of Husavik, it was a new location. There was only one ship sailing from this village. Amazing company offering fantastic trips to see whales. Went a couple of years back and saw the lot, Blue, Minke and Humpback. I would recomend these guys if you are in Iceland or are looking for whale watchig in Europe. Fantastic!!

We were in Husavik during the shoulder/off season, and Gentle Giants either was closed, or IIRC, only had an early morning trip, so North Sailing was our only choice. But we ended up happy with it.
