Excellent afternoon! The farm was great with sheep, cats, dogs and 120 horses, the farmer knew all their names! Having not ridden for ages I was a bit nervous but it was so much fun with amazing views from the hills, I soon relaxed and even did some cantering. The people at Polar Hestar were very friendly. They advised us to take the three-hour tour: you will drive along the bay, with its stunning views. It is true, this route was absolutely unforgettable! A 3-hour tour can be done even without any experience.

My wife and I went to Polar Hestar with our kids who are 11 and 14. It's about 30 minutes north of Akureyri on the other side of the bay. All four of us had barely ever been on a horse before, and I was a little worried how it would go. But wow, what a positive experience. Icelandic horses...
