It is not the most awesome of the waterfalls but it is very beautiful. It flows over a culvert surrounded by greenery just making it picture perfect. We were lucky as we had a clear day but there were a lot of flies around. Don't forget to look around the basin as off to the side are some interesting rock... More

Took a trip with SuperJeep to Hekla and Landmannalaugar at the end of our holiday. It quite simply blew our socks off! From climbing the slopes of Mt Hekla to 750mts, then moving on through some of the most achingly beautiful and dramatic scenery to Landmannaluger and the hot springs, where we walked then bathed in fabulous scenic surroundings. One... More

This was the first stop on the day we called Waterfall day on our vacation. We had hired a private guide in a 4x4 and were awed to turn the corner off of a gravel road surrounded by - well nothing - and see these falls. We visited in June and the edge of the lake or basin at the... More

We had a Ford Fiesta and we used this car to visit the South of Iceland. This was our first stop, the gravel road was not difficult, and there was enough room to park. There is also a table in case you want to have a picnic. The waterfall itself is really beautiful, it is possible to get quite close... More

This waterfall requires some driving to visit but it is well worth it, just off route 32. Its carpark can be reached via a one lane gravel road with some undulations but can be driven by a car that is not a 4x4. GPS coordinates to the falls are N64° 06.877 W19° 51.233. When we visited, the surrounding hills were... More

Hjálparfoss waterfall is a beautiful double waterfall in south Iceland near Mount Hekla on the Fossá River just north of where it meets the Þjórsá River. There's not a lot nearby, but the falls are just off Route 32 on the way to Landmannalaugar. We visited on the way to Landmannalaugar with Iceland Guided Tours. Although its not the highest... More
