I had time to kill today so I walked down from my hotel in Hammenkatu. The walk to the observation tower has a steep climb, which was a nice & invigorating exercise. I visited the observation tower yesterday, I have to say... it's fantastic! A lovely quiet area with fantastic scenery. I've read about the donuts in lots of different places. This really is a fantastic area, which is easily reached by foot from the top of Hämeenkatu, the main street. Just go past Aleksanterin Kirkko and to your north west direction and you will find it. Pyynikki ridge is regarded as the highest gravel ridge in the world. Pyynikki observation tower (built in 1929) itself is a classic among tourists and locals as well.
