Vapriikki museum complex is always worth a visit regardless of ones interests. The building itself and surrounding area are already worth a visit. Wonderful old factory buildings made of brick by the rapid makes a stunning scenery. Very interesting and high quality changing exhibitions and nice bit of Tampere history always available. Not to be missed when you visit Tampere.

The changing exhibitions have been really spectacular during the past couple of years. The Chinese terracotta warriors, Love in the mediterranean world, mummies, etc. The building houses several interesting museums: post museum, ice hockey museum, nature and natural history museum (they are making the exhibition even larger and more interactive this spring), technology, and the history of Tampere, stone museum... How would you like 7+ museums in the single building with single affordable ticket? Come to Tampere Vapriikki and you have it. They even throw full course food restaurant / cafeteria and museum shop to the equation. Easily spend a day inside this building. I like it, I like it a lot!

We visited Vapriikki to see the new exhibition about pilgrimages from Finland but actually found the Old Tampere exhibition more interesting. Even if we have lived in Tampere for quite a while it was interesting to see how the city looked a century ago and what has developed it into what the city currently is.

Due to variety of the exhibits, there is something for everyone. We found the Old Tampere 1918 and Innovation part very interesting and the fashion ones were good as well. Another plus side in this place is that they serve good food and you can get really good deal for lunch from their buffet.

This is a huge museum. Inside you have history (the local civil war museum, which is my favourite), natural sciences, museum of toys, museum of ice jockey, industry and some more things. Temporary shows are held also all the time. You can easily spend the whole day there, specially in winter, as there is a restaurant/cafe as well. A must... More

Vapriikin Museokeskus has something for everyone. There are lots of historical collections. Check also other exhibitions. You can by one ticket that includes entries to every part of this complex or you can by ticket only for certain exhibitions. For me the most interesting part of the Vapriikin museokeskus was the museum that tells industrial history of Tampere. It is... More

This isn't a museum, but a collection of small museums of very different kind of themes (ice hockey, fashion, toys, nature etc.). Some of the exhibitions are permanent and some are changing, so if you have plenty of choices to visit the place, be sure to check the dates of exhibitions to choose the best time to visit.

If you like museums – and perhaps even if not – this is one of the places you should visit at Tampere. There are many different museums in an old industrial building (19th-20th century), so there's a plenty to choose from if you don't want to visit all of them at once. In most cases, the exhibitions are made in... More

I've been here on January with my school and this museum has been for us so interesting and amazing. There are a lot of pictures and objects from the Finnish story and from the story of Tampere and you can also use some of them (like an old bicycle). If you are in Tampere you really have to visit this... More
