They have many books in different languages, also movies. The staff is very nice and there is plenty of space to sit there.

The building is worth to see. Red bricks and curves. Metso also has a good cafe with homemade cookies.

Metso is one of my favourite libraries and a place where I have spent countless hours. The main library hall is spacious and the ceiling so high that you get a unique sense of space, yet the different sections have their own feel. ...which was very interesting, but is perhaps only suitable for hardcore Moomin fans. I'm more casual so I got less out of it than my Moomin obsessed girlfriend did. It's mainly scenes from the books recreated in model form and there's a tonne of original paintings from Tove Jansson, the creator.

Library building is one of the best examples of 1980's architecture in Tampere. Designed by Reima and Raili Pietilä the building looks like western capercaillie from above. (Metso=Western Capercaillie in Finnish). Moomin Museum and Mineral Museum are located in same building.
