A great little museum with an extensive and interesting overview of the local area, culture and history and a great space on the top floor showing off local childrens artistic talent (better than many serious collections!).

Almost anything here in Finland is quite petite, haha, and this museum is no exception. It locates right in the center of the city so it should not be any problem finding it. Basement full of regional costumes with explanations. Upper floor had temporary display of one-of-a-kind really unusual bicycles. Hands-on activities for kids. Very interesting, well-presented exhibits.

The whole family enjoyed this museum. ( even the boys!) lots to look at. The crafts on display were creative and unique and put a smile on your face. There is a room where you could make a variety of crafts for a small fee. Well worth the visit.

There was a craft shop with Finish handcrafts, a little pricey, but that stuff usually is.

Unfortunately the main museum was closed when we visited but there was an exhibtion of art work which we both really enjoyed. There is an open workshop where you can make your own souvenir, all tools and materials are available - incredible!

Have visited here quite often, usually christmass time when trying to find unique christmass gifts from the little shop. The museum, like all in Jyväskylä, has free entry on Fridays. Note also, that they're closed on Mondays. The craft museum of Finland is located in the beginning of pedestrian street, next to Taito Shop, which is a small shop selling... More
