Midsummer cruise

Took a mid-summer fest cruise and it was overall nice sightseeing around lake Päijänne. I think it would be even better if we took evening cruise when all the bonfires were lit.

Going for one of the boat cruises is must-do in Jyväskylä as you can see very nice scenery of the shore of the lake. Our cruise was for 3 hours in the evening, so we saw very nice sunset and came back to the city when the lights were already on, which was beautiful ;-)

Really fun, get in to a boat with a sauna, navigates in the lakes and explore the area, it is a unique experience as you will be at a 100C sauna and jumping on a 15C lake!!! It is a life experience.

We took one of the lake cruises completely on spur of the moment and really enjoyed it - view of the lakeside nature and little cottages is very pleasant. Going through the lock was very interesting for children. Dinner was really good. One of the younger travellers felt that 3 hours was a bit long.

Jyväskylä city harbour, the most elegant and stylish harbour in the middle of Finland. Worth to see both in the winter and in the summertime...

If you visit Central Finland and Jyväskylä in summer one of the must do -things is to get a nice cruise on Lake Päijänne. You can have lunch-, dinner- or whole day-cruises; duration between 1,5 hour to a whole day. It is also possible to travel from Jyväskylä to Lahti by boat. You can by tickets in harbour or online.... Beautiful scenery, dining or boozing, your choice. Night cruises not suitable for children, but daytime is perfect for a family cruise.

We went on the Two Canal Cruise from Lahti to Heinola on a magnificent summer day. It is important that you pick the right day and weather to enjoy the trip to the fullest. We set off from Helsinki via train to Lahti and then reached the harbour. The cruise starts at 10 in the morning and takes 4.5 hrs... More

We opted for a steamship cruise instead of the more modern ships available. Crew very accomodating and spoke good English. We even got alook at the two cylinder 200HP engine. The boat has been cuising Lake Paijane since 1906. Enjoyed the waterside views.

During our last seven days tour to Finland, we gave almost a full day to Lake Piananne tours. Piananne and Ruotsalainen now have their many views captured in my camera. They are truly beautiful lakes. The captain who accompanied us on the cruise kept us entertained with informed with all his short stories and joked after intervals. We toured along... More
