I think wery good place to have lunch. We had fish soup, salmon and herring plate and they were all very delicious. It was also very enjoyable to wander around, there were many kind of berries, mushrooms, cheese, sea foods at the stalls. And also people were very kind like anywhere in Helskinki.

Stopped here for a quick lunch and had soup and fish tapas in one of the little cafes. Lovely friendly people and very generous on the seafood! Also a great place just to wander around and buy gifts - tinned reindeer meat for sale if you want to buy a random present and packets of Moomin coffee.

This little indoor market first opened in 1889 and sells a variety of Finnish produce. It is a great place to wander, learn the variety of fish and meat goods eaten by the locals and to pick up a coffee/some lunch. This was one of my favourite places in Helsinki.

This interesting market is contained into a XIX century's building and is similar to the covered lobster market in New York and to the fishmarket of Sydney apart from the measure (it's very small compared to them). It's divided into two corridors where stands sell goods: fish, bisquits, cheese, chocolate, bear's meat, etc. I've bought three different boxes of smoked... More

Located in the south harbour, the Old Market Place is indoors and have nice stalls, selling anything from bread to bear meat. The products are very fresh and fair priced. Most of the products are locally produced or from within Finland, like the organic honey we bought and the reindeer meat I bought for my husband. It's perfect for a... More

The Old Market Hall (built 1889) down by the Helsinki South Harbour is full of great stalls selling some super looking produce... Lots of great fish and seafood places, preserves, coffee, sweets, meat, fruit and vegetables, etc. There are also gifts and some great looking coffee shops and cafe's. Such as Stories Café, although I did not get time to... More

Nice market hall with interesting food stalls, coffee shops and delicatessens. Lots of surrounding food stalls and fish vendors (don't go if you don't like the smell of fried fish though!). So many choices for a nice lunch here.

There are about four "bistros" here in the covered market selling food from the stalls. We had a brilliant fresh fish platter for 10 euro and coffee at a specialist shop. Excellent choice of food to but, or dishes to eat sitting down
