There's many ways to experience a real Finnish sauna. One tradtional city-way is to go to Kotiharjun sauna. Some foreigners have made an u-turn at the door, but those who do enter, have liked. I love it, allthough I am not foreigner. The old style changing room looks and feels old, but has the best athmosphere, the really traditional one,... More

You can go there with your friend or alone. Amazing feeling. Women and men have separate saunas. More

Old Finnish public sauna, heated whit woods. Good place to rest for a moment and gather your strength before dinner or a bar rounds. Easy to reach by tram, metro or bus. If like have beer in sauna BYOB like locals do. There are soft drinks, some snaks and grilled sausages available. Separate saunas for men and women. More

As a Finn living abroad I rarely get to enjoy a proper wood heated sauna, so this is a real treat when I visit. As everyone else has said in their reviews, this is not fancy, it isn't meant to be. It is, however, clean, easily accessible (you can walk there in about 25 minutes from the main railway station... More

Last of it's kind, this sauna dates back to the time when public saunas were needed because of the very limited facilities in apartments. It is no health spa, but a very down-to-earth space with a locker room, showers and a huge sauna room. You can bring your own drinks and sit outside with your towel on. There is are... More

A few stops on the metro out of town but easy to spot (the big neon SAUNA sign helps!) at the bottom of a residential block. Friendly English-speaking staff at the door sorted out hire of a towel and a locker key - you don't need to bring anything, but I guess toiletries and your own towel wouldn't be wrong.... More

This sauna is definitely not a fancy "wellness" place. This is just "sauna"! Located in an ordinary residential building, it is a rather small place, in the mens' sauna with nothing else than a dressing room, a room with showers and the sauna. Once you see the sauna you recognize that there has not changed much over the last 80... More

Kotiharjun sauna offers a unique and original public sauna experience. Lots of locals, not too many tourists. Authentic working class sauna atmosphere. You can bring your own sauna drinks (beer recommended) and enjoy them in a locker room while having a sauna break. Or you could take a break outside the sauna in a street wearing only a towel as...
