A very Beutiful Church

This is not a very large cathedral, but certainly one of the most decorated. It is hard to take in all in on a short visit. Quite crowded in the summer, but worth the stop.

This cathedral was built in 1868 for the Russian military when Finland belonged to Russia. It is free to enter and worthy of a quick visit (but I am comparing it to ones I've seen in Russia which are far better). It stands on a hill above the Market Square near the harbour

Fantastic square with stairs and a beautiful Cathedral. Enjoyed taking pictures here! A little bit crowdy, but a fine attraction.

It's unique location (being on top a small hill...?), it's colour as well as it's architecture, it's definitely a good place for photo shoots, you can be creative since there's many faces of this place depending on the angle. Inside is also quite beautiful too...

A beautiful, lavishly adorned Cathedral, a must if visiting the city and worth the short walk from the marina.

We had not paid attention to the opening hours and got there after it had closed for the day. The outside was very interesting and we hope to return some day and see the inside.

This is a must visit if you are in Helsinki The Cathedral sits on top of a hill and has a commanding view of the picture perfect post card harbour This is not a big Cathedral as Cathedrals go but you get the sense it is very old with a wealth of history. We were there when a service was... More

We found this church only as it was sitting high on the hill overlooking the harbour. Very imposing church but a quiet respite inside.

This church is high on the hill about a 5 minute stroll from the harbour and is beautiful from a distance and gets better and better as you get nearer, the ornate detail is fantastic, there is no charge to enter the church and the inside is better than the exterior its jammed full of gold relics , fonts organs...
