It is interesting because of its architecture. Nice for a walk, there are some pubs close that are ok.

Absorb the view of the Helsinki skyline from outside this building, perched on a grass-covered rocky outcrop to the east of South Harbour. Then enter the church by a small side door to the right of the main front door. Despite the spectacularly shiny onion-shaped golden domes, the rather plain surrounding garden and red brick exterior, though interesting, belie an... More

Well worth a visit, even if you only look at the outside. Step inside to experience the quiet and solace of the cathedral. Worth spending some time inside.

With an unique architechture, it's so worth the visit! You can locate it pretty easily, since it's near the place where you catch the ferry to Suomenlinna Fortress.

Although we were just a bit late to gain entry to this church the short walk from the town and climb up the hill was worth it to see this impressive church. Even the view from the church alone is worth it and from here you can see a coal fired power station nearby that is apparently being closed down... More

In the vicinity of the Market Square in Helsinki you'll find the biggest Russian Orthodox Cathedral in Western Europe. We happened to visit it when there was a Saturday service going on. It was a very beautiful experience standing there together with the congregation. The choir was singing beautifully in that typical Russian fashion. All the beautiful ikons, the candles,... More

Coming from a byzantine-based background, churches like this are of particular interest to me, but this one is simply outstanding. The Iconostas is immense and beautiful, worth the visit just to see the altar area.

This was a beautiful church. We were there over Easter weekend and when we went to this church there was a little service going on - very cool to see. The architecture of the church was just amazing!

If you enjoy churches, you should definitely check this one out since it is the biggest Russian orthodox church in western Europe. Also it is worth going up there (since it is a bit higher on a rock) since you will get a nice view from there towards the port and the white church.
