the facade is beautiful. Recently the rail link to the airport was opened, so you can now travel from the airport to ghe central railway station in about 25-30 minutes. The airport station proper will not open until september 2015, so in the meantime they run a free shuttle service between the nearby entrance and the terminals.

The central station seems to be the heart of Helsinki, since all the cool hangout places and landmarks for tourists are all around the station. With it's beautiful design, I think it'll be a good spot for taking photographs from different angles! At night it get's much more lively, and that's when I recommend you to stop by!

Many things to love about this station, First, the architecture. The red brickwalls allow you to appreciate the structure (especially where the arches are) as well as the diligent work of the masons. Look at the 4 giant figures at the front entrace! Secondly, the tracks are under glass roof that actually protects you from the sun while allowing it... More

It is difficult to miss the central station, but it is worth spending some time here. I love the statues of powerful men holding up large light globes at the main entrance. The first time we came here on a Saturday a Couple of years' ago there was a flash orchestra playing. Also good for train spotters (my husband)

This railway station has an iconic design and impressive architecture. It is an obvious landmark and connecting spot for going to different locations. From here, one can get a train (obviously), subway metro, and tram. If you got one of the day passes (8 Euro for 24 hours or 12 Euro for 48 hours), then you can ride all of... More

The building itself is beautiful; a great landmark and meeting point in Helsinki. There are quite many cafes, bars, shops, money excange, restaurant, etc. in the building. Toilet fee is1 eur and they facilities are clean. Luggage storage cost 6eur (at least I didn't see any cheaper ones) which is quite much I think. The railway station is better than it... More

Beautiful entrance that looks majestic complete with a clock tower. Bright and inviting. Very much like saying "Welcome to Helsinki" The railway station itself is well laid out and navigating through it is a breeze. Most of the public-transport connections go via this point and hence it's a good point to start planning your journey throughout the city of Helsinki.

The history of the architecture behind this building is really interesting. It is stunning to look at, built in the same style and era as the empire state building in America. Granite statues are very impressive.

Very much a 1930's style, impressive architecture, well worth a photo and closer look. One of not many impressive buildings in the city.

Very much the product of it's time with a majestic exterior including the clock tower and two figures either side of the entrance. From a users point of view, its well laid-out, well signposted and compact. Buying tickets involves getting a ticket from a machine, sitting around waiting for your number to be called before dealing with a pleasant multilingual... More
