If you are coming into Helsinki by air (Finnair bus) or by boat (the bus stops here) you are likely to reach here if you use public transport.Huge station with lots of food stalls. Bus stops on either side of the station (long distance). In front is the main city centre with cafes, shops, offices, plenty of starred and non-starred hotels,... More

I am happy that the main railway station is still in the original use, not as a museum. There is a genuine feeling of travelling and waiting for the dear ones. Feeling thirsty? Try a nice pub, Pullman Bar, which is located upstairs. Beware of pickpockets!

Friendly helpful advice saved us all the worry of finding individual train, bus, tram and ferry charges within Helsinki area. From then on, we just carried our pass, and added value when we wanted to travel outside the zone. Apart from that, it's a very fine building and ideal meeting point.

Despite of all modern influence during last decades this massive building still remains as a monument of the original finnish achitecture from early 20th century. I should strongly recommendent evebybody to take a walk and spend some time in and around this astonishing buildning. And it is free of charge!

The architect of this building is excellent. The outside is impressive, inside nothing special but well worth a visit.

I've got very two different experiences of this place, although to be fair one is more about the area than the actual architecture. On a positive note - you have to see the men with the balls! I'm not being rude, the railway station and it's architecture has a focal point of statues of men holding 'balls' that light up... More

Much like Frankfurt but full of shops and common area. Beautiful chandeliers and only few tracks. Still a good place to hangout.

Helsinki Railway station is quite a good architecture both outside and inside. It's looks like a very historical place. Station is quite neat and clean inside and around station area is very clean. After getting off from the train, you are in the historical centre of Helsinki. Main shopping centers, hotels are just a walking distance.

The building of the railway station was historical and you can find the rails to different cities in Finland, Lapland or Russia. No matter you visit in the morning or evening, it was so crowded. You can find the bank, burger king, a cafe and convenient stores here. There were some shopping malls around the station. For transportation, you can... More

The central Railway Station is probably the best place to start any activities when visiting Helsinki: its a convenient and easy to reach place, as the metro, all tram lines (except for line 8, which does not go through the city center) and most bus lines have a stop here. If you stay slightly outside the city center but want... More
