We received a warm welcome when we entered. They have maps and brochures which was very helpful. But the best was, in the lobby are 4 desktop computers that they let us use for free! This was a great stop for us.

Helsinki city hall is centrally located in the city so you can visit several attractions from there. You can get a lot of useful information about places to visit from the tourist counter inside noting that the staff are very helpful

We took a wander into the city hall and were pleasantly surprised to find a great exhibition of 50's food adverts. We had a lovely wander round and I'm sure other exhibitions would be just as good. Great tourist information section too for other things to do.

Very nice city all, even if it is easy to compare between each other the scandinavian cities, and if compared it lacks of their majesty.

Helsinki is a truly beautiful city; wonderful architecture and lovely parks; very clean; the city hall and senate square are stunning and the large church is stunning.

A special evening as part of a recent conference. I loved the interior of the building, art display, lighting and excellent catered food. The staff were very prompt in ensuring everything was in order.. It is just so very difficult to drink a glass of wine and eat a small plate of food while standing. A few tables scattered around... We took an organised bus tour of Helsinki due to lack of time although we walked to and from the cruise ship to the city centre. After the bus tour we walked to the markets and an old church near the city centre. This is a wonderful city with friendly people.

On a beautiful September day, Finns are out in abundance in Senate Square. We listened to a local man who was set up as a one-man band sing in a robust baritone voice beneath the statue of Alexander II. Helsinki is a great city for walking, be sure to see the Temple Square Church literally carved out of rocks.

I'm tacking a general observation about Helsinki onto the City Hall as there doesn't seem to be any way of reviewing Helsinki per se. Helsinki seems to me a rather blank place compared to places like Tallinn, St Petersburg and Stockholm. There are a couple of good-looking churches/cathedrals, a shopping area which is mainly in indoor malls, some outdoor markets,... More
