If you want to enjoy outdoor life in Helsinki this is a park to visit. It is located in the upper class area in south Helsinki and is a wide open area next to the sea. In the winter you can slide down the hill with your sledge and in the summer you can enjoy open air concerts for free.... More

Have been here umpteen number of times. Its gorgeous in the summer. A huge green patch along the sea, with a small hill with great views. Visit during summer and you can see loads of people having fun, the running ones, couples having ice creams, bikers, hikers, swimmers, sailers and the sunbathers. Good cafes around. A very nice and old park.  One of the oldest original parks in Helsinki. A comfortable walking destination. On the highest point there is a nice view of the sea. There are also a few good cafes for you to visit near the park. Ursula or Mattolaituri as an example. Carusel is also quite close to Kaivopuisto (Check the opening hours). On... More

I love visiting this park. It's one of my favorite places to visit during summer in Helsinki. You can get there by tram, car or just by walking. It's full of life during summer. The park is big and has several entry and exit points. The park has a lovely view form the top of the hill. You can see... More

Beautiful park walking distance from the centre of Helsinki with beautiful views to the sea. Large enough to find a quiet spot, there are park benches on several locations.

We took a bike ride and also did run towards Kaivopuisto from our hotel (Fabian). It was fabulous to be on the shoreline across the islands watching boats go by.

Kaivopuisto is the area where are many embassies. The park is near the sea and if you like to walk from the city it is not too far. About 10-15 minutes. Just follow the seaside and from the harbor go straight ahead. Then you will see the catholic church and you are in the Kaivopuisto park. Walk in to the... More

It's nice to walk here and by the sea in the summer, stopping at one of the cafés by the sea for a drink.
