The park is great in the summer, with a beautiful view of the sea. In winter, when it's covered in snow (on a good year, from January to March) you can sledge down the slopes on some of the hills.

It is obvious that Kaivopuisto is a lovely park in the summer with it's curving walkways and old trees. In the snowless darkness of mid-winter you might look at and visit buildings near by. Many foreign embassies are situated by the park in a variety of houses of different architectual styles. This is also an elite location to live in,... More

Beautiful gardens with coffee houses and the most relaxing view to the sea. It's amazing in winter and full of activities in summer time. Lovers corners, all sorts of birds in fall. playground for children all the year. Don't miss it.

Situated next to the coast and south of the center, this is s perfect place to stop and relax for a moment. The park has numerous benches and chairs available but also the bedrock provides perfect spots to sit. Travel here by foot and enjoy the areas or take tram 3 to its final stop and walk right in.

If the day is sunny, take the walk out to this park and meander along the water. You can see the Suomenlinna Islands from here, as well as hundreds of boats docked throughout the many Helsinki harbors.

This is a beautiful place to wander and appreciate the preservation of an extensive natural area near the Harbor. Paths beckon in all directions through clusters of trees. At the water's edge you come to Observatory Hill which offers a splendid view of ships coming and going. A gem well worth a leisurely visit.

Kaivopuisto is the place to be during first of May and a few other national holidays. Also evening walks by the sea or visiting the cafes is fun. Harbor is nice, but that is in my mind different place than the actual Kaivopuisto around it. After visiting the Kadriorg park in our southern neighbor state, I feel that Kaivopuisto is... More

This park is what I was expecting from Helsinki: trees, grass, windy shores, sun peeping trough the leaves. Relaxing to walk and to cycle. A moment of peace.

A popular summer time place for concerts and strolling. Nice old restaurant Kappeli at the end of the park. Excellent Soup of the day for a reasonable price. Good for watching people.
