I just cancelled my trip to Mediterranean and headed to Baltic countries in July. That small island was a peace of heaven in Baltic Sea. I spent an afternoon and even took a dive in the Baltic Sea( that was the only part that I felt in Baltic:) I was lucky with sunshine too. There are free showers and toilets... More

Just 10 minutes from Merisatama or 20 minutes from Ruoholahti. Nice boat trip and escape from the city to Pihlajasaari Island. Beaches, restaurant, nature, sea...

Beautiful nature, possibility to swim and sunbath, nice restaurant, picnic areas and grill amenities. One of my favourite summer spots in Helsinki!

Helsinki is located by sea and has some public islands for common use easy access. Take a boat to Pihlajasaari, pack a picknic basket or eat in the local restaurang. It is about 20 mins boat ride which is fun in it self. Swimming wear is a must, and fun you will have. Sea nature and wilderness so close to... More

Pihlajasaari is an island that offers a perfect escape from Helsinki. Just take a 15 minute boat trip from Kaivopuisto (next to Café Carusel) or from Ruoholahti (very close to Ruoholahti metro station). For the boat you will pay after the boat leaves so no need to book any tickets in advance. Pihlajasaari has nice beaches (including a nudist beach),... More

I love the place - located just outside helsinki you have to take ferry or come by your own boat. Many nice beaches, nice rocks and decent restaurant where you can have food or just coffee / drinks.

A great place to spend a summer day, Pihlajasaari (Rowan Island) actually consists of two islands connected to each other with a sort of bridge. You take a water bus from Merisatama - a two-way ticket for adults is 6€ (summer 2014) - on a warm & sunny day you´ll probably want to have a seat on the sun deck... More

I LOVE this place ! Can you imagine an almost unspoilt island a mere water-bus ride from the capital city with sandy beaches, forest, warm rocks ( if you go on a sunny day ! ) clear water, great coffee and doughnuts AND views over Helsinki that make people drool ? Take your binoculars & your camera ... I have... More

Filled with people if good weather. Visitor port has electricity and possibility to fill portable water tanks. Restaurant had HUGE queues, but food came quickly, after I manage to place my order.

Popular place to spend a summer day. Take the ferry from café carousel in kaivopuisto. Pick up some strawberries on the way. Bring your swimming stuff and picnic food. Enjoy the beach, or pick a spot on the rocks by the water, go swimming and watch cruise ships go by. There's also a restaurant on the island. The food isn't... More
