Go up to the watchtower

This is a cool place to checkout. Best thing to do is to pay a small fee to go up to the tower where you can get an amazing view of the stadium and city.

If you are in Helsinki, stop by the Olympic stadium. This is the place where the 1952 Olympic games were held. You can get up into the tower and on a sunny day have a fantastic view of Helsinki and the entire archipelago in front of it.

We took an ill advised sightseeing tour which was not worth it..this was one of the places we passed. I'm glad we didn't stop to be honest because it just seemed like a run down place.

If you have time (and energy) then walking to the Olympic stadium from the waterfront is quite far but an enjoyable walk. The View from the top is beautiful. After visiting multiple European cities, I found that often the view from towers started to look quite similar, but Helsinki is truly unique. The rock formations and plentiful water made this... If you're an enthusiastic about track and field, this is a piece of history. Paavo Nurmi sculpture outside is a must see.

Good views over the city. However this attraction is closing at the end of December for four years whilst renovation works take place.

Its an old stadium, not a lot to see. I am glad it was still looking maintained when I was there. Nice to see a bit of History but I think hanging out downtown would have been better spent with my time. I was here back in 1999, not an option in the dropdown List for when I travelled here.

Nice view to Olympic stadium,HJK Helsinki FC stadium and city Helsinki from tower(5 euro for entrance). Unfortunately only what we missed is to visit Finnish sport museum which is located inside of Olympic stadium due to renovation.

Hard to believe but once Finland had the Summer Olympics, nowadays this is a decent place to see a band in a larger concert setting.

Nice place to stay on a budget. Cosy, historic and cheap. Closer to the tower to have splendid views from Helsinki.
