Great to see this complex still in use more than 60 years after the 1952 summer Olympics. It still looks pretty good too. The sports museum is really interesting and the views of Helsinki from the tower are pretty good.

The stadium is interesting in the building simplicity and highlights how much we now pour into sports in western nations. I doubt the seats here have changed since the 1952 Olympics. It was great to go up the tower and see amazing views of Helsinki as well as to visit the statue of the Flying Finn. There was something about... More

You have to pay 5 EUR for a trip up the stadium tower. It's really worth the money - you have a great view. There is a lift which takes you all the way up, you only have to climb a short staircase to get out on the viewing platform.

I've spend here one of the most folkloristic moments of my erasmus. The Finnish team were playing an hockey match against Croatia (or maybe Russia). It was well organized: big tv-screen both inside and outside the building. Food and drinks everywhere. I don't know if the Stadium itself is good, but if you are in Helsinki when an hockey match... We were amazed to find out that this facility was built already in 1938 (before WW II and 14 years before it hosted the 1952 Olympic games). From the tower one gets a perfect view of the huge track and field stadium and the nearby soccer stadium, and the entire skyline of Helsinki. The tower top (about 22 floors) is... More

The trip up to the top of the pencil thin tower gives view of the entirity of Helsinki. It is well worth the 5 Euro.

We went to the stadium as part of our own walking tour of Helsinki. We were pleased to see the tower was open til 9pm so we got to see sunset. Definitely worth a visit

Very cheap to go up the tower 3 euros with a Helsinki Card. Amazing views across Helsinki - ensure you take your camera and you'll get some great shots!

While it was a bit of a trek outside the city center to get here, it was a fun way to spend a couple hours. I'm not a huge sports fan, but I thought it was well done. Went up the tower and the views were beautiful.

For a simple elevator ride to a simple small viewing area, I thought 5 euros was a bit much although your ticket purchase does give you a discount to other on property venues. Nonetheless, the views from about 200 feet above the city were impressive even on a rainy night and to touch a part of Finland's Olympic (1952) history... More
