We arrived around 4pm and stayed until closing at 8pm. We didn’t quite get to see all the animals. A pretty basic city zoo. You can walk to the island or take a water taxi from downtown Helsinki. Not all the animals are out and easy to see. We got lucky and saw more than usual. It was a cooler... More

Helsinki zoo is clean and has god service. The Zoo is an island which made my visit even better. You can take the bridge or the ferry when your visiting or leaving the zoo. It has a lot of green areas and did not at all seem stuffed with people. It was a very nice.

Been to lots of zoos over the years as a child and with my own children. This is by far the best zoo I have been too. You have to get a boat over to the zoo as it is on an island and this us all included in the price. Very cheap too. Lovely zoo lots of animals well... More

Really nice zoo in an island. There is a posibility to get there with a bus, bike or ferry. Ferry is quite cheap for students and who doesn't like ferries? ;) There's quite a big variety of animals, some changing animals. In general very lovely place to have a stroll.

Korkeasaari zoo is one of the must places to visit in Finland. This was at least my twentieht visit there. Asiatic lions, siberian tigers, amur leopard and european bison are just few endangered animals that can be seen there. It is very childfriendly place. You can go there by ferry or through bridge by walking.

The zoo is set on a whole island and is perfect for a lovely day out if you don't mind kids screaming everywhere. The fauves are very sad to see, obviously unhappy and bored but the other animals seem fine. There's lots of Nordic unusual ones. Not for a rainy day.

It was a different zoo experience. I liked how you could choose the buy the over priced food (like all zoos) or you could take a Punic basket or have a BBQ. Some exhibits seemed to be empty. A sign saying why would have been good. Overall a good day out and very child friendly

It was a beautiful day so we decided to take a trip over. It's a lovely boat ride over or u can get the bus but the boat is much nicer. It's a nice zoo but it's a zoo, it's where it is on an island. There's plenty to see(animals) and also grill areas and places to sit out and... More

Helsinki Zoo (actually called Korkeasaari, "High Island") is one of world´s oldest zoos established in 1889). The name already tells you it is best to wear comfortable shoes as there will be a lot of walking up and down the hills, although the land area is not that big. The zoo specializes in arctic animals and overall in animals that... More

Going with bus to the zoo or by boat in summer in front of the president palace. The zoo is relativ small in a rocky island and the oldest in the region. It is internationally known for snow leopards and the funny wolverines. In general it especially has nordic animals, but there is a tropical house as well. Its a... More
