Buying books is made easy - you just search, click and buy. The Academic Bookstore is so much more than just a moment of buying. There you will get the actual genuine experience of searching for the right book at the time when you feel the need of it.

Alvar Aalto architecture. If you do not find our literature here, you do not find anywhere in Finland. Try to Aalto Cafe too.

It has the widest collection of all the book stores in Helsinki. You can also find very good deals and there is a nice coffee shop at the back.

By far one of the best bookstores in Nordic countries. Extensive English language section. They have a nice and peaceful cafe on upper floor with table service. And on main floor there is the only Starbucks in downtown Helsinki.

This is my favorite bookstore in Helsinki, or in Finland. Availability of different books is great including scientific ones, and the location of the store is excellent. And of course there is that coffee shop (SB). In general staff in Academic Bookstore is highly professional and very polite. It is very easy to be customer there.

So apart from being a brilliant and beautiful bookstore (a sadly endangered species?) it also has a very nice cafe with table service. Because of the movie Kamome Shokudō - it had to be on our first itinerary in Helsinki and we come back here every time (like regulars only not that regular). Food and drinks are lovely and the... May all time favourite is the travel section. After shopping - or before - try the Café Aalto back in the second floor - table service, so this is... More
