The island is definitely worth visiting! It has beautiful gardens and places to sit down, enjoy the view of the Gulf of Finland and have a nice picnic. There are multiple cafes also if you want to eat indoors. The Sounmenllina Museum is not worth it, it is really small and expensive. You should plan to be there for at... more

The Fortress is amazing. Truly beautiful! It consists of two main island. One is an old-fashioned neighborhood and the other is the actual fortress, with stone walls. Suomenlinna is a fortress/castle/island in the harbor outside Helsinki. It's easily accessible via a short (and very enjoyable!) boat ride. The island is fascinating - you can explore the old fortress and castle endlessly, walking along the walls or poking around the various rooms.
