I've been buying at Stockmann for last 10 years and I can assure you it is not _that_ expensive. Being the biggest department shop in Finland and (maybe) in whole Fennoscandia, with offspring in Baltic countries and Russia, they are trying (with tangible success) to cater any taste and/or purse, hence in some corners of central shop there are expensive... more

I do love Stockmann, and if I happened to be a millionnaire I would shop there all the time. Unfortunately for me I am one of the majority who actually have to work for a living and so apart from special occasions I very rarely venture inside. That is not to say it isn't worth a visit though. As department... more

I think Stockmann is Helsinki's best department store. It sells whatever you need, food, furniture, flowers, toys, shoes, designer clothing (from Polo to Dolce & Gabbana) and books (in a different building next door called ''Akateeminen Kirjakauppa''). This is one of the best shopping facilities Helsinki and the whole Finland can offer for residents and tourists. more
