Description: The collections of the Sinebrychoff Art Museum include some of the most...
The collections of the Sinebrychoff Art Museum include some of the most valuable and internationally important paintings by old European masters to be found in Finland. The collections have mainly been made up of donations. The unique house museum of Paul and Fanny Sinebrychoff, a permanent exhibition on the 2nd floor makes up the core of the museum. The art collection of the Sinebrychoffs, including furniture and other artefacts was left to the Finnish government as a bequest in 1921.

I found this place thanks to TA and I really enjoyed it. I was completely empty when I went on a Saturday but I really liked the visit. It gives you a sense for the style and domestic interiors of a wealthy family. There are also several very nice art works including a Cranach I liked. When I visited there... More

A beautiful house with a small, weird collection of Old Masters and some running exhibits. Worth the visit if you're serious about art.

What a generous gesture of the Sinebrychoff family to open the top floor of this beautiful private house to visitors -- without even charging a fee! Among the paintings to be sampled are a Rembrandt, a Frans Hals, two Lucas Cranachs, and two Corots, and all this in splendidly decorated rooms. I particularly liked the section with Dutch 17th century... More

It is a great place to see. The art and architecture are really beautiful. The permanent collection is free to visit and the temporary collection requires a fee. Well worth a visit.

I was pleasantly surprised as I had quite low expectations. I have passed outside this museum so many times and not even considered entering. Then one day it said it was free entrance and then I took a look. It is a old fancy house of a ritch family made into a museum. They collected classical art and did so... More

to me it was among the best museums in town. It is like being in a private house. Beautiful furniture and paintings. Sure, it's not big, but really worth seeing!

The lovely little museum in the downtown of Helsinki. Peaceful and relaxing atmosphere in the old house. When you leave the place you can have a nice little walk in Helsinki downtown or take a tram. Flea market of Hietaniemi is very near, go there in the nicesummer day!

If you have time it definitely worth dropping in: cosy family house of Sinebrychoff keeps his amazing collection of medieval oil art (Rembrandt, Tiepolo etc).Besides there are some temporary modern exhibitions going on. For some reason this museum isnt marked on tourist information maps but we were lucky to find it by accident. You should check before going as they... More
