We really liked the bold sweeping architecture of the building - it's a piece of modern art in its own right. The galleries are large and stage a wide variety of standard and temporary exhibition. We went to see the Mapplethorpe exhibition (for which there was a charge), but most of the gallery is free. The shop is good, the... More

This is really one of the most interesting places In Helsinki. Interesting architecture and very exciting interior – everything modern – from lamps to the exhibition items. Time here passes very fast while you move from one part to another – taking photos possible, we made with no problems. Souvenir shop near is OK, you can but there something as... More

Like its younger and bigger brother, Kumu (across the Gulf of Finland in Tallinn, Estonia), the place itself is one of the star attractions here for its eye-catching design and great exhibiting spaces. There's always something thought-provoking among the collections as well. Bound to go down a treat with art-lovers, but a fun and easy stopover for lay tourists as... More

From the pictures you see the fantastic architecture. Besides the interior make you way down the stairs and look at this from a bit further away.

I was impressed with this museum, despite the fact that I am not big fan of Contemporary Art. The works of art were selected with great taste so kudos for the curators. Since they only have temporary exhibitions I will start with "Elements" which explores the relationship of Nature and Art. It was very good with some sensorial experiences to... More

The building is a wonderful example of modern Scandinavian Architecture, which complements the modern art very well. The staff were friendly and helpful, recommended visit if you're in Helsinki.

To be short: always excellent exhibitions in stunning architectural space. Visit Kiasma, if contemporary art could be your thing. If you need place to be easy access, the front door is the only problem. The museum itself is easy access and great for kids, too. Ok, automatic door and being too easy access can cause problems if you're visiting with... More

Kiasma is a part of the National Gallery of Finland, the main art museum institution of Finland. It presents both Finnish and international contemporary art with changing exhibitions and selections from its own collection. The controversial building is impressive from inside and even a short visit to the entrance hall gives a nice view for a visitor. The museum is... More

This is a great destination for the location/setting and the architecture of the building (Steven Holl). Walk around the building and go inside the adjacent Sanomatalo. The new music hall building is also nearby and "Baana" the former train track turned into public pathway for bikers. If you go inside, the museum offers an impressive view of the Parliament and... We loved this museum! There are five floors, four with galleries (the ground floor has a cafe, shop, coat check, and offices). Most of the galleries focus on Finnish artists. When we were there, the exhibits offered a great range of things, with plenty of interactivity. We liked the building, too, and the public space between the museum and the... More
