You have to be more than interested in architecture to find this place interesting and to pay to entrance of 17 euro! You are only allowed on guided tours which take about 20 minutes - then you have seen it all- inclusive the garden.

For me, this Place is boring, but I guess that for the Aalto-enthusiasts, worth a visit. But not for the rest of us

If you love modern architecture and interior design then this place is a MUST! The impact Alvar Aalto has had on so many modern architects cannot be underestimated and his work can be seen (albeit in an inspired way- not copied) in the houses of almost everyone who has shopped at IKEA. Our guide had spent time in Japan and... More

The house designed by Alvar Alto is fascinating. It was certainly ahead of its time, and reminded me of of a 1960s version of American architect, Frank Lloyd Wright, with all fittings designed by the creator of the house. Unfortunately the guide we had tended to repeat herself. There is nowhere to sit and we became very tired standing for... More

Aalto designed a monastery that we have visited near our home, so we wanted to tour his house. We relied on our GPS to find the house in a residential neighborhood of Helsinki. Tours were offered on the hour. Our Finnish guide gave our tour in English, and she answered our many questions. Alvar Aalto designed the house and lived... More

You can take the number 4 tram and buy your ticket from the driver. There are scheduled visits at specific times. Visit also AA studio that is just 5 minutes away.

The home of Alvar Aalto was a great place to visit. I had a brazilian architect with me and we visited both the Aalto House and the ateljee one after the other. This is highly recommendable also to others, find out the timetable for both and do them in the right order. Both museums responded well to e-mails, but did... More

A short guided and informative tour provides an introduction to this leading Finnish architect and founder of Artek design. The house was built in 1936 but was far ahead of its time. His innovative and functional approach can be explored in the furnishings and fittings of his home and in its interior and exterior design. You can then appreciate the... More

OK so I went along with my architect husband, mainly for his sake. But the house is so interesting. Loved the relationship to the garden. The tour guide was very knowledgeable. If you want a window into the Finnish soul, this house, its setting and its contents will inform you. Also visit his studio.

First of all, I recommend you to take a look on thw website cause there's not too many hours available to visit the museo. Only at 1pm 2pm and 3pm. The price is around 17€. The guide of the house made our visit funny and interesting, we learned a lot and she explained us a lot of things and details.
