Owner description: Founded in an old tram depot in 2004, Korjaamo Culture Factory in Helsinki is one of the largest independent arts centres in the Nordic countries. Korjaamo hosts two restarants, a gallery and venues for concerts, plays and other events. Tram Museum is located in the same premises.

If I lived here I would be at Korjaamo all the time and probably volunteer to work there. It is split into distinct areas - tram museum and art gallery as well as areas for performances. Depending on what happening there is, Korjaamo is a nice place. Industrial and urban. Artistic.

I go here for gigs occasionally, you can find more information on their website. Usually good quality concerts of smaller bands at a reasonable cost. The best quality here is the summer terrace. It is an peaceful oasis with occasional live music in the summer. Much prettier and not as crowded as the terraces downtown. Not windy like the ones... More

Make sure you check out their website before you go to understand what is open to see. We stopped by without doing so, only to find out the place is not very big an the studios are all closed for the most part of the summer. Korjaamo has an awesome summer terrace with a chaise longues. At the daytime it's the perfect place to read a book with a glass of wine surrounded by some creative locals, from actors to copywriters, drop to the galleries or to the local book shop.
