The buildisella to visit. It is definitely worth while to visit the Finlandia Hall and not only view it from the outside. You'll also see Aalto's furniture. Why not book concert tickets or stop by at the cafe. '

Do take the tour. Very informative. This building, an iconic Alvar Aalto design, repays a leisurely inspection. Check out the light fittings, the waving details (did you know that Aalto means 'wave' in Finnish?), sigh over the fact that Aalto's vision for the broader precinct wasn't realised. Stand on the stage - where history was made. Our guide was so... More

Worth visiting if you are an architecture buff or have a strong interest in Finnish history. The modernist structure was designed by architect Alvar Alto, who was responsible for the building, the furnishings, etc. It is an attractive structure with an interesting interior. The concert spaces are a lot of fun, although the acoustics are not the best and the... More

This building is now getting a bit old and was having some renovation while I was there. However the principle attraction is the modernist architecture and it is sourounded by a park that follows the lake. White Cheeked Geese were in abundance with lot of gosslings. My photos look stunning in black and white.

This is an incredible building and easily accommodated hundreds of attendees. A very nice dinner was served preceded by a piano concert by a local artist.

We had a conference banquet here at Finlandia Hall, and it was lovely. The venue was plenty large, the food good, and the acoustics were really nice for the piano music we heard. It wasn't an "official" tour, but an enjoyable way to see the place.

A world famous Concert Hall where so many noted recordings have been made by so many" greats" over the years. . If you get the chance do go to a concert do.. Easy to get to as one of the local trams drops you almost out the front and returns you to a very central city location near Stockmann;s department... More

As several of you who so kindly visit my stream have pointed out, it is no doubt time that I tried something else... So, unless my little iPhone experiment from a few weeks back counts, this is my first attempt at architecture :-) Not really sure what to think about when taking these photos. Perspective, angles, light etc seem to... More
