This "attraction" certainly serves as a place of worship in the most interesting of surroundings. We happened on the organist practicing, but there were many visitors as ourselves making it less a place of meditation. They do charge 1 Euro to use the toilet. Be sure to approach the proper side as three sides are clearly without entries and the... More

We don't understand the popularity of this church. Yes, it's different in that some of the walls are rock. But otherwise, it's wholly unremarkable. Many buildings are set into rock, though most build a foundation or walls to hide it. There are so many beautiful churches in northern Europe; this one just didn't do it for us. If you want... More

This church is really unique and unique. It isn't built in the rock namely cut down in it. Dark granite walls and a light dome create tremendous architectural and spiritual complex. It is supplemented with sounding of music. From the informative point of view it is interesting to rise by a balcony and to look at the church hall from... More

Important to remember that it is used for music recitals as well as religious purpose. Some Christians may be offended by the blatant trading - even taking a pee costs a Euro

this church doesnt need an extended visit but it is worth the effort to get there, outside doesnt do the church justice with a tarpaulin drapped over the top but this is soon forgotten once you step inside and see this church which is truely created inside of the rock with a remarkable copper ceiling

The rock church is a place to visit and sit around for a while. If you are lucky you can catch an organ play and enjoy the peace for a while.

It is amazing to see the rock formation and how one can create such marvel out of it. The Rock Church is very beautiful, it is not majestic like the big churches or cathedral but it is definitely interesting. The ceiling made specially out of copper wire for acoustic reasons. Very recommended.

We took a tram from near the market place. Church was very interesting from an engineering view point. Would have loved the opportunity to know more about the history of the church and actual construction, etc. Organ was being played during our visit. Pictures allowed however silence requested which was a little challenging for our kiddos after a few minutes.... More

Visited the Church on a cruise stop. I first saw the Church on a trip to Helsinki 20 years ago and remembered it. The Church is located in an urban area but you would know it was there from the approach. The rock interior and copper ceiling are innovative design and beautiful. Sit in a pew and soak it all...
