Emma - full of surprises

Emma is a museum of modern art that often takes you by suprise. Very modern the way that almost everything is accepted from serious art to playful experimental works.

There are some pieces of the old Espoo's history. But the main attractions are the changing exhibitions. So check beforehand on the website, whether there is something that interests you. The building is an old printing house and all the surfaces are pure concrete without any cover.

The architecture of the museum is quite suitable for showing the modern arts. It's a big venue and worthy for visiting.

It's an interesting museum, but it's not easy to reach by train from Helsinki as it is written in some tourist guides. One evening per week the entrance is free.

If you are in Tapiola area in Espoo- or even in Helsinki for that matter- and you love art - then please, visit this museum. It used to be a printing house but this pure concrete architecture somehow takes you to "New York" . The basic collection iitself is worth seeing but there are other exhibitions, too. The cafeteria and... More

Calm museum with lots of room for looking around. Gives art the space it deserves. Well built exhibitions, interesting artists.

There are 6 different exhibitions, each with a different theme\focus. As the museum is quite large, and as certain works take quite a lot of time to process and take in, so to say, I would recommend coming to this place at least thrice in order to be able to take the time to see all the exhibitions comfortably, without... I really like this museum - have been here a few times. The main collection of the museum is very interesting, and there are also some changing exhibitions. Under the same roof you can find a toy museum, Espoo city museum as well as some other museums. There is also a cafeteria and a museum shop. If you visit all... More

There are 5-6 exhibitions there, like clock, toys, modern arts. We were attracted by the yellow "submarine" and decided to spend an afternoon there. But, the exhibitions were not so attractive for us personally and we were there for 2 hours only.
