Ruka is a small resort in finland that has something for everyone. It's simply breathtaking with its stunning scenery and quaint village area. Compared to Levi it's smaller, compared to Saariselka it's bigger but not so much that it changes the feeling of the resort. There are several choices for eating drinking and relaxing, a good selection of ski rental... More

Excellent for beginner and intermediate Skiers and Snowboarders alike. Loads to do even apart from slopes. Nice and quiet. Night life is a bit limited but that doesn't bother me. The people are lovely!

Small, compact and everywhere is just a two minute walk to the ski lifts. Quite pricey but it is Scandinavia and it is a ski resort so no real surprises there.

A fun resort with wonderful snow, skiing, husky, reindeer and of course great hot chocolate on the slopes. Our 3rd visit to Ruka and it was wonderful as ever.

Members of our family has been to Ruka for a number of years now. Personally, this was mine and my wife's first visit in nine years and it has changed alot in the mean time - for the better. There has been a great deal of building with lots more accomodation going up, restaurants, shops and I think some more... More

Fantastic purpose built resort. Lots of snow and well kept wide and quiet pistes for skiing. Were here for week over Christmas. One of most relaxed Christmasses ever. There is a supermarket, off licence, ski shops and restaurants. All you need. Prices similar to London. The temperature was cold (minus 20) but lots of places to heat up whilst skiing.... More

Lovely, purpose built little village in a grand wilderness. The cross country skiing is as good as you'll find anywhere in the world. Lots of activities like snowmobile driving, reindeer feeding, husky sledding etc.

Quiet town with everything you want in a compact area. Plenty of restaurants, ski shops and a supermarket. There is also an off licence. The ski shops can be expensive but fabulous quality items

Stayed in a log cabin in Ruka for Christmas, what a wonderful place, lovely ski resort, ideal for beginners, the bars and restaurants are all very nice and the food was excellent. Did the usual excursions such as Huskies, snowmobiles, ice karting and reindeer, definitely recommend the Husky drip and the ice karting was great fun. Minus 28 so cold... More
