Owner description: Joulukka offers comprehensive experiences for the whole family deep in the mystical, authentic Lappish forest. Join the Elves in their daily chores in operating Santa's Secret Command Center or the Trolls' mighty Brotherhood. Also the Snowy Girl lives in Joulukka taking you on an exciting journey in finding Santa and his magic powers. You may also spend time doing Santa's favorite sports such as ice fishing, skiing, kick sledging and tobogganing and sit by an open fire viewing the stars and searching for Northern Lights. The highlight of the day is when the children whisper their toy wishes to Santa's ear and finish the thrilling day in Joulukka with a delicious meal.

We booked the Dream of Joulukka package. This was really a magical experience for our young children. The coach ride to the location is already quite intriguing as you wind through the magical forest in the northern winter darkness. The first stop was Elf school were the children participated in elfish activities. This was held in a hut heated and lighted... More

Joulukka is by far the best place for santa claus visits in Rovaniemi, the atmosphere is so different from the purely commercial "Santa Claus Village". Kids adore this place!

This was just magical - even the drive there on a road getting smaller and smaller into the snowy wilderness felt special. The command centre is beautifully done and Santa himself utterly believable. The only complaint I would have had is the group was too large for the price we paid (about 8 families) and there was a lot of... More

Our family LOVED our time at Joulukka. My children, 7 and 10, were totally captivated by Elf Jimmy and Thumppina the Troll. My 10 year old was "questioning" things about Christmas, and this brought Christmas sparkle back into his sweet eyes. It is a low key experience, but the activities, the setting, and the personalities of our elves were all... More

If you want to experience the magic of Christmas, then I highly recommend booking tours at Joulukka when you are in Rovaniemi. We went to the Christmas Celebration on the 24th of December, and on the 27th to the Dream of Joulukka and the Guardians of Lapland (with a private meeting with Santa in between). If you are looking for... More

As other reviewers have already stated, this outing is very expensive (when travelling on the Australian Dollar). We did the Dream of Joulukka trip. Our daughters, aged 6 and 8 were totally gobsmacked by the elf Jimmy who escorted us on the bus. His voice, costume and enchanting stories captivated them. We experienced many of the Rovaniemi attractions, and this... More

Firstly, this is one of the most expensive things we've ever purchased for an event that lasts under three hours - it cost about €400+ for three of us. And not the easiest to book either! The Joulukka website won't let you purchase online, doesn't accept credit cards and you have to do an international bank transfer (my bank outrageously... More

Dear CockneyBrum, Thank you for taking time to write such long review and helping us in giving some good feedback! You are absolutely right saying our booking system is not updated as we had not designed it for such rush of individual travelers rather than groups of travel agents (invoicing). However, we have now taken a step further and are... More

By far, this was the best Christmas experience we had in Rovaniemi. A HUGE thank you to Elf Sandrina who captured the essence of Christmas and made my daughter's experience incredible. To be taken out to the forest and go through Elf School couldn't have been more magical. We decorated cookies, BBQd marshmallows on the open fire in snowy, -20... More

We took our two grand children (3 and 5 years) to Joulukka. To them (as well to us) it was a fascinating, exciting place. The elves were so nice to children guiding them through the magic world. They knew them by name which gave a very personal touch for the visit. And there were so many fascinating devices in Santa's... More
