Enjoyed this part of the trip a lot, especially getting into the red lobster suit and dip into the icy waters. Have someone to take pictures for you, it is definitely worth it. With very beautiful views of the sea and sky with Arctic lights. Definitely a must try ....

There were several large groups during that day, hence a bit crowded. Especially during the ice swimming section where we had to wait for half an hour as there were only 16 swim suit. It was also a bit unhygienic as the swim suit covers pretty much the whole face and they don't clean it before passing on to the... More

The Sampo Icebreaker ship is in very good condition, the tour of the ship is quite excellent (they even allow you to wonder around the entire ship after the tour to ask the crew questions- this includes the captain and the Engine room- there are no areas where you cannot visit). We reserved the three course dinner, and the food... More

A great 4-hour cruise with very friendly hosts. An introduction to the ship was followed by a tour of the ship, including the engine room. Dinner was good and very well organised, with second helpings offered. Taking a dip in an insulated suit in the icy waters is a must. Awsome watching the ice breaking up with the ship's passage.... When I visited this attraction, the ice was not thick enough, so the icebreaker could not sail at all. We only floated at the port and toured the ship. The food here is quite delicious. One more important thing is you cannot bring your own food into the restaurant. You can also wear a special suit to swim in the... More

The sampo trip on the first week sail in December was canceled due to the warm weather. Therefore I only managed to visit the ship and had a three-course meal in its restaurant. The food was great: salmon soup, grilled beef and a chocolate cake for dessert. The tour in the ship was quite educational too. Overall, it was a... More

Sampo is a marketing wonder, but nothing more IMO. It is a no thrills cruise and a short ice swimming for a small fortune that I wished I would have invested into another activity, like second time ice climbing or all day husky tour. It also looks like they are only interested in your money, and they don't cancel the... More

Icebreaker Sampo is the only icebreaker to have tourists. Its very fine four hours on the Botnian Sea ice. You see plenty of ice and eat good.

It is a nice experience, only if you have some extra time in Lapland. On a board it was a bit cold, it is nice to sale in the sea but I would prefer to spend this time on some other activities.

Before we went for the trip, this was the first activity we planned. A lot of thinking had been done. We were really lucky to have good weather on 3 April 2015 and we were among the first batch to experience the ice swimming. We all looked like lobsters in the orange suits. LOL! and it felt good to float... More
