The southern archipelago is beautiful, especially if the weather is nice. One needs to take the tram nr. 11 to the last stop (Saltholmen) and take a ferry to the islands. Västtrafik cards are valid. I was there on the 1st of May when it was very crowded, but still, it was a special experience. I love the beautiful Nordic... More

We took tram # 11 all the way to the end where the ferry terminal is. We chose the longest ferry ride available, about 3 hours. We just relaxed and had coffee & cake while the ferry made it's usual stops while people got on & off. Very beautiful nature.

Whatever island you choose to explore, the southern archipelago is such a beautiful place to spend the day. The ferry there is quick, and gives you a taste of the views of the amazing scenery. The islands are all very quiet, no cars which makes it a great place to walk around, sit and have a coffee and something to... More

Great view even in cold weather. Tram takes about 30min to get there from city centre and the ferry takes about 45 min one way. I did not have time to get off ferry as I had only 3hrs available. Check the ferry times because there are only few per day. Reading this before going would be useful: http://www.goteborg.com/en/todo/s/EventGuide?searchCategory=1062&sortkey=99 When... More

go to Rosenlund station - 5 minutes - take streetcar 11 to the harbour, jump on a boat, - it's all great! i've been on Brönnan and had excellent lunch in the little restaurant.

When you are in Göteborg (Gothenburgh), you must visit to Southern Archipelago, and Styrsöbolaget ferry service is the best cost effective and convenient way. You will find tranquility, scenic beauty, lovely sun shine, scent of nature, local remote residents- what can you expect more. Spring, Summer and Autumn are the perfect time to visit but obviously summer is the best... More

We've been there last weekend, you can chose from different islands to visit. The great thing is that cars unlike in the northern archipelago are not allowed on the island. The walk is very nice, it'll take you around 30min to cross the whole island. It's windy in this weather so dress well.

It was a lovely sight and it stopped at few island for people to get on and get off. The best part is that the islands are car free ones.U can do island hopping, also have a day long picnic on...
