More of a place to go to eat in one of the deli style restaurants or pick up some cheese (there's lots of cheese) and bread for a picnic rather than a place to buy edible souvenirs to take home. We went on a Saturday morning and was surprised at how comfortable it was to walk round - there were... More

This was our first introduction to Stockholm, heading out to eat lunch, jet-lagged yet excited. The Saluhall didn't disappoint, with an elegant raucous energy and a seemingly infinite variety of foods and eateries. There are ethnic offerings but we stuck to the local fare of which there was plenty, everything from stand up fast food which was basically organic wraps... More

Östermalm Food Hall is one of Stockholms finest brick buildings from the late 1800s. Here you will find quality ingredients and cooked dishes from the Swedish and international cuisine, wonderful scents, cozy atmosphere and a personalized service from behind a counter. Prices are at the higher end.

Here you can find a rich variety of shops: fresh fish (salmon,crams,shrimps...), fresh meat (t-bone steak), large selection of cheese (cedar), chocolade shop with pralines and one with swedish traditional pastries (buns). Great to spend a morning. There are also places for lunch, so we finished the tour with tasty meatballs.

There is so much to look at in this building. Ate at one of the places in the hall called Husmans Deli.. Had the most amazing meatballs with mash, pickled cucumber and lingonberries. They have bottles of home made lemonade and water on the counter for you to help yourself free which is great. The staff were very friendly.

When they open at 10:30 they are not very busy at all, and you can take the whole place in. As market halls go, it really isn't that large but there is a diverse array of merchants who are knowledgeable about their food. Renovations are being planned to the place so go soon before they drain the charm out of... More

This place is both an experience and a restaurant. There are food stalls for eating on site and for taking things home to prepare. It's loud and busy and fabulous. Even if you don't eat you should walk through just to see it.

We went in to get traditional FIKA (coffee+pastry) while it was raining outside (traditional swedish summer). The design and atmosphere ate great, you will find lots of good food like fresh fish, chocolate pralines, jams, meat, cheese etc here, everything looks amazing except the pricetags :D Stockholm is very expensive, but fika here was just 40 krownes, everything else was... We came with very high hopes, especially since we love food markets. Upon arrival though, we were shocked by prices, lack of overall variety, and the general 'upscaleness' of this place. Only the well heeled need visit. 250-300 SEK for a single plate of food. Even the bakeries were ridiculous - 78 SEK for a single baked good at some... More
