This is probably the best food market I've been to in Europe. Not the biggest, but best in terms or quality. It does get crowded, but of course, who wouldn't love coming here! There is a decent amount of seating to enjoy lunch from some of the restaurant vendors, and they also serve beer. There are also lots of pastries... More

Very characteristic, historical marketplace. It's well mantained and it makes you desire to dive in the labyrinth of stands. Merchandise is enhanced in the best way and showed so that everyone is attracted by it. There are some places to sit down and eat something, or you can also take away. Don't miss it!

I would definitely recommend to at least visit this little market once and have lunch here or at least enjoy the atmosphere. This gets very very busy at peak times so go early if you want to avoid long queues

If I could give more than 5 points I would. This old covered market is an absolute must. Just to walk around or do yor food shopping, or have a great meal.

Great place for anyone who loves food and drinks. Love sitting here just viewing the locals come in to do their shopping. Very much to buy and take with you as well as many small cafe's and restaurants. Recommend the traditional 'Smørgås' place for lunch.

It is a really great attraction for market lovers! You can see a lot of kind of cheeses, seafoods, vegetables, spices and beverages. You can take products to go or eat inside the market in some stores...I just thought prices a little bit expensive, but I recomend the visit.

Avoid the peak times, which are usually between 11:30 am -1:30pm otherwise you won't be able to find a table. If you arrive slightly after that you have good chance for a searing if you are not more than 4 The food is simply delicious and walking through the food curt is making you hungry for sure. I guess the... More

This market was once rated the #7 on the world's best market halls list. And I can see why. The first thing that hits you when you walk into the door is all the smells of fresh food...fresh fish, coffee, chocolate...you name it. Everything is so fresh. You have the option of taking food to go to prepare or prepared... More

Market Ostermalm (Östermalms saluhall) - indoor food market in central Stockholm. The name on the market has received the name of the district of Stockholm, which is - Ostermalm. Here you can really eat and drink and want to buy everything

Ostermalm is a boutique market with prices to match but made a lovely stop for a weekend lunch in Stockholm. We paid the equivalent of £15 each for a generous seafood rye bread open sandwich with salad garnish and a flat white coffee. It seems a popular place for friends to meet up at weekends and unlike Borough Market, there... More

Staying in Ostermalm

Neighborhood Profile
Ostermalm
With its high-end shopping facilities and Michelin-starred restaurants, Östermalm is definitely the poshest part of central Stockholm. Here you will find Stockholm’s most majestic residential buildings, a beautiful market hall from 1888 displaying gourmet foods from around the world and the Swedish Royal Dramatic Theatre with its awe-inspiring architecture. At night, legendary nightclubs make the perfect location to observe the natives (and those aspiring to become natives of this exclusive neighborhood) in their natural habitat and to enjoy the latest produce of the Swedish house music scene.
