Do avoid this place. Arrogant, ignorant staff. Racist and bad service. And today they even showed that they are stupid. Throwing out a Bulgarian female tourist (around 35-years old) thinking she was ordering drugs from the menu. Apparently you can be thrown out if you order the hash browns from their menu...

What more to say. The security on this place are truly awful. Not sure if they treat locals different than foreigners but shame on you.

The place is full of security, last night one came over and asked me to follow him. He said I was drunk, which was ridiculous, I was quiet all night, well behaved, just talking in the corner with a friend. I saw them doing this with a lot of people earlier, he just came up and asked me to leave... More

I see from the other reviews that there are mixed feelings about this place, and I can understand both opinions. The disco downstair is an eldorado for Cougars, but upstair there were several good live bands playing. I enjoyed the atmosphere very much, there were a big variety in people; old, middle age, younger and quite young. I guess this... More

In one sentence: Old, drunk (really drunk) people pretending/wishing/actually believing they're young. It's like the Silja Line or Viking Line ferries, only on dry land. Please avoid.

I traveled to Stockholm in Dec of 09. I walked everywhere in Stockhom, Solderman and Gamlastan. If you want to experience a beautiful quaint historic area, go to Gamlastan. Out of everywhere I traveled in Stockhom I found the Engelen Pub to be the best place for live music. I ended up back there almost every night after not finding... More

I want to report regarding the place called "Engelen/Kolingen nightclub". Staying in the heart of Stockholm in Gamla Stan (Old Town) island, after very esciting 2-days tours we (we are couple in 30's) decided to try stockholms nighlife entertainment, we were recommended to visit nightclub called Engelen, situated on the same island just a minite walk from islands main tourist... Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighborhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
