A stunningly beautiful building, inside and outside. The ornate decoration was a joy to behold. Was allowed to look inside without actually having to see an opera.

I love the royal opera house in Stockholm. It takes you back in time & gives you a bit of luxury. I visit the opera abot 4 times a year. I love the atmosphere & it's nice to dress up for the occation.

We saw Die Fledermaus and had a great time. The singing, staging and orchestra were outstanding. The pit is almost entirely exposed, which I loved, since I could watch the musicians as well as the stage. It is a small house, with but 13 rows in the stalls. We sat stage left, first row, in the 2nd of the 3... More

If you like opera--go see a performance. If you don't like opera, just take a tour. It is a beautiful space.

The Stockholm Opera is from the 18th century and famous for being the place where the Swedish king Gustavus the 3rd was killed in at a masquerade ball in 1792 (a bad period for kings in Europe). He lingered on for a couple of weeks but could not make it. It is said that the man who fired the shot... More

I went to see Sleeping Beauty at the opera house. The setting is very intimate. My seat was quite close to the stage which was a different experience. The performance was world class.

Even if you don't fancy opera, the building itself is worth a visit. Situated close to the water and Berzeli Park it offers you a good starting point for further exploration of Stockholm
