Great building full of history. The details on it are incredible. Inside the acoustics are very good . The prices for the shows are high but worth it.

This is a beautiful venue. We were treated like royalty and you could feel the history in the atmosphere. Very awe inspiring.

Perhaps the best way to see this beautiful opera house is during a performance, for opera fans this is a real treat and if you are not an opera fan, here is your chance for a very inexpensive taste, as the state subsidizes the opera and so prices are very very accessible, our front row seats were less than 100... We didn't have a chance to go inside as we stayed only for a day. Our tour with the bus began on the square in front of the opera house so we could see this beautiful building from outside. I'm always obsesed by doors so I never pass a beautiful door without taking a picture of it. And this place... More

The Opera House ("Operan") is situated in the heart of the City Centre and should be on every visitor's itinerary if time permits. There are regular performances (slightly less in the Summer Months) and guided tours in English are strongly recommended. We have just seen the ballet "Raymonda" which was superb, the sets magnificent, the orchestra brilliant, the performers outstanding.... More

We were able to purchase tickets for Carmen the afternoon of the evening performance. The box office is open at 12:00 noon and we got good seats for $35.00 each. The opera house is gorgeous, as is to be expected. Strong performances. The set was pretty minimal and the production was "modern". This is not my favorite version, but hey,... More

Just walking by, at the end of a long walking day, and went in, what a bonus. Getting the tour you learn so much about the history of the house, as well as the amazing architecture. Was good to learn that ABBA performed Dancing Queen on the stage when the King married the Queen. So wonderful costuming as well.

We took the English language tour on July 30, and had a great time. First and foremost, we lucked out with the guide - he was a former member of the Swedish Royal Ballet, had performed in the Opera House many times, and therefore provided a truly informative and entertaining perspective. We had the opportunity to see the hall itself,... More

I visited twice, once to see La Traviata, and then Carmen. The Opera house is gorgeous! I would definitely encourage a visit and take a tour(which was very thorough and informative) or see a performance. The Swedish government subsidizes up to 23% of the cost of a ticket, so the best ticket in the house is only $100 USD!! The... More
