Went for the tour in English - guide was very engaging and knowledgeable. Lots of detail - gained a better understanding of the Opera House, how it functions, and its history. The interactive dance part at the end was a great way to finish!

First of all, the Stockholm Card is a good value. One of the included options is a "backstage" tour of the Opera House (usually costs 100 SEK). We love opera and old buildings, so sign us up! The tour had about 30 attendees (too many) and was led by a very enthusiastic young guide, Fabian, who was knowledgeable and a... More

The building and presises are very nice. The stage and room very nice. But one will miss many nice details without the guided visit, which is usually lead by an experienced employee, many times an ex-staff of the opera or ballet. Not to miss.

The interiors of the Opera speak the story of a cultural history of Sweden where beauty was predominant. However, a person who never visited the Opera before can follow the story by reading it on a screen above the stage visible to everyone. The Royal Opera is modern and yet classical and to experience Puccini or any other composer is... More

Even if you can't get a ticket for performance, you can still enjoy their backstage tour. I did see "Swan Lake", but my seat was not good, and I couldn't see almost a half of the stage...

It is a must if you are a classical music fun. I am not one, but I liked the building very much, my general feeling was very good and I left the building thinking that the visit was worth.

The Opera House is small compared to the Houses in other places in the world. Nevertheless, it has a decent orchestra and got a great Group of singers together. We enjoyed the dark part of Tannhäuser, and the set reflected a bit of Nordic Design, too.

We attended a concert and recital of Mahler's Das Lied von der Erde. The performance was excellent the Opera House is small when compared to La Scala or Covent Garden but extravagantly decorated. The chandelier was stunning and ceiling illustrations unusual. The entrance hall and rooms above are worth a visit as is the downstairs cafe/ piano bar

My wife surprised me with a night at the Opera. We started with an extremely good dinner in "Bakfickan" on the back side of the Opera building. It is a small restaurant that accepts no bookings and you might have to wait awhile but the fish casserole I had was amazing. It is small and cosy and perfect for a... More

I love opera but swedish scene is really unpredictable so you can see the best and the worst on the same stage. however the orchestra is really good and can rescue bad vocal and play. the building is really nice its self and the view from the terrace is great.
