We stayed at a nice hotel called Helsmtem Malmgaard, a kind of vintage classic mansion in the middle of the district, and we got no disapointment. The minor streets are residential, but there are a lot of supermarkets, pubs, restaurants on the bigger streets, which makes the district very lively and, in some places, noisy. It´s not as charming as... More

Pretty commercial district with lots of well preserved old buildings. Many cute shops but they close early especially on weekends. Restaurants are expensive. Great views over the river if you climb up the hillside.

If you like cute stores, nice restaurants and a variety of people, go here! It is nice just to walk around and explore. For the best view of Stockholm take a bus to Tjärhovsplan and walk to Fjällgatan.

Really nice restaurants, amazing culinary expierences, but of course everything has its price, so the dinning here is upscale and a bit expensive

Really liked this part of town, a nice mix of commercial shopping streets and residential bars and restaurants.

Södermalm is a unique place, indeed. I've seen pretty much ever corner of this magnificent island in the centre of Stockholm. Unlike Gamla Stan which is really cute and historically an absolute must to visit, Södermalm offers tranquility, a new perspective and a great variety of coffees and restaurants. And if this is not enough, you can go shopping in... More

We spent the second half of our trip staying in Stockholm after spending 4 days in Gamla Stan. We liked Sodermalm much more mainly because it is far less touristy and more interesting than Gamla. Resturants, cafes, shops and activities are plentiful and we felt that this was more of a place where real Swedes work and live. We liked... More

Götgatan, Medborgerplatsen, Mosebacke, Folkungagata ... the possibiilities are numerous if you are looking for restaurants or shops or if you just would like to have a look. Söder has everything and the surroundings are charming.

Lots of independent shop and coffee shops! boutiques, bars and other trendy hangouts. Also a lovely place of the town to be based in as walkable distance to the old town and has some nice parks.

In my opinion the best zone in Stockholm! Architecture is coloured and elegant, restaurants and cafes are definitely better than old town and Norrmalm ( and less crowded ) and besides from Monteliusvägen you have one of the most beautiful views of the town! Apart from this, right in Södermalm you will find the best clubs and pubs of the... More
