I enjoyed staying on Sodermalm as I felt like I was in a real neighborhood. It has beautiful views of the water and Gamla Stam, etc. Access to all transportation. The old part is lovely and it has many restaurants, pubs, and parks.

It is a part of Stockholm, "southern island" and is interesting enough to pay a visit by walking at random, nice, quiet and clean.

Sodermalm was the place that I felt I was really in Stockholm, you can see that the Island have fewer tourists so you can feel the life of the city. There are very nice cafes and parks around there, so is a nice place to have lunch. Next time I visit Stockholm I am going to stay in Sodermalm for... More

Here one of the many Islands Stockholm is built upon, and also one of the largest and it contains many hidden gems as pubs and good restaurants, specatuclar views but also very old architecture if you know how to find them. ;) But mostly, here is away from the ordiinary tourism, and an Island where true natives live and go... This was our favorite district in Stockholm. Very understated fashionable artsy area. The SOFO section is filled with unique shops and cafes. Nice parks, commanding views of the city. Well worth exploring for an entire day.

My personal favourite neighbourhood of Stockholm! Very lively with a good mix of locals and tourists. Many independent stores, small bars en restaurants, vintage shops.

Obviously the cool place in Stockholm, with trendy coffee shops, vintage clothing shops and perfectly looking people living there. However, I kind of like the feel of the place, it's relaxed and friendly. Spending a couple of hours here is essential if visiting Stockholm.

Sodermalm is just the cool/hipster/trendy past of Stockholm. Definitely IMO the best place for dining and nightlife options. Ate at Urban Deli and a burger joint (can't remember the name). Overall the place just has a really cool vibe. Definitely a neighborhood worth exploring.

Felt a bit like the Brooklyn of Stockholm. Great place to walk around. Very neighborhood feeling. Scale is perfect for walking around. The stores are interesting and real, not touristy. Fun little spots for a beer or a quick bite
