I stayed in Sodermalm for several days in May 2014. If you are thinking about staying here but worried about the distance to the main sites, don't, it's really quick and easy to get to old town. There are lots of restaurants, cafés and bars around so it's very convenient. It felt more like a place locals live then a... More

This is probably the most versatile district of central Stockholm: shopping, bars, restaurants, parks, water, sports, residential areas, museums and more. Go for a swim (Långholmen or Tantolunden), eat great food (Skånegatan/Nytorget or around Mariatorget), drink expensive cocktails (Gondolen or along Hornsgatan) or cheap beer (almost anywhere), take a stroll along the water from Tantolunden to Skanstull. Lots of shopping... More

Not exactly cheap, but average by Stockholm standards. A superb selection of draught beers - probably the largest I saw in my few days in the city. On the main drag and well worth popping in for a cold one.

Cool place to visit. It can be reached by Katherina elevator but now it's closed for restoration. So you must climb by foot or by metro. The views to Stockholm are beautiful .You have viewpoints with wonderful views.Go to Fjallgatan,an old street with beautiful old houses. Do not miis the path near the sea from Mariaberger to Slussen. It's really nice with... More

It is difficult to tell some parts of beautiful Stockholm apart after just a few visits but all the areas along the water are very enjoyable. Sodermalm is no exception. Hang out a bit in this area too.

Originally a slum area, this area is now known for its bohemian, or artsy, cultures, and a large range of cultural amenities. There are some great places to eat, but the draw for us was the views out over the rest of Stockholm from the area.

This part of the city is the "hip" one where people are artsy and you can see creativity written all over it. The coffe places are not your usual style but worth the experience. I love the feeling there!

This part of town has some funky coffee bars, shops, restaurants, and an 'almost' pedestrian street running down the east side. But it's not quite there yet and in a few years when it gets more established it will be the go to spot after the old town

This is were the young creative and professional people live. Many small good local cafes and restaurants and Montelius Vagen offers the best view over Stockholm
