I cannot remember the name of the place in Sodermalm where you get the panoramic view of Stockholm, but definitely worth the excursion for the view. The town itself was a bit unremarkable, but the view was awesome.

We stayed in Sodermalm in an apartment about 10 mins walk from Medborgarplatsen station, which was very convenient for visiting other parts of Stockholm. Sodermalm has a lot of unusual and interesting shops, bars and restaurants, as well as being very convenient for shops and supermarkets which are open quite late. The north part is also a great place to... More

A really nice place to visit and go walking during the day. Lots of nice shops and cafes. This area is also where the nightlife is. Feels very safe to walk day or night. Make sure you bring your good walking shoes . there's lots to see and do.

As more people have mentioned it's the hip part of town, you will be able to find a lot of different kind of stores within all from cloths - furniture - second hand - old electronics - cd stores and so on and so on. Great selection of restaurants and bars, everything from proper Swedish "hak (=A little shabby places)"... More

This part of Stockholm is just north of Gamlastan. It is FULL of art galleries, small boutiques, trendy restaurants and picturesque streets.

A really nice part of town ! Lots of cool shops and excellent restaurants. The atmosphere is relaxed and you feel very very safe and its great to have a meal and then just wander around the streets afterwards. I stumbled across an excellent record store selling vinyl albums that I had not seen since I was in my 20's... More
