Moderna Museet, the sculptures around it and it´s also a nice little island to walk around. It smells of tar and sea, and you get a great view of the city.

We stayed on this island: its quiet, quirky, its got a few museums and a nice restaurant with terras, lots of boats and wharfs and old shipyard stuff; there are 2 spots to get on with your bikehire and there is a ferry leaving from the top.

Short ferry trip that was included in the price of the metro ticket. Gave a good outlook of the bay area. Once on Skeppsholmen it was a tranquil work around the quiet streets and plenty of pieces of sculpture to take in. Also walked onto Kastelholmen and then the ferry back to town.

This island has great panorama of Gamla Stan and Djurgarten islands. It's not so big, you can walk around it in 40 minutes. There are also a ship building/repairing point there. Interesting to see how the ships are repaired. You can also visit modern art museum there.

Skeppsholmen is an island really close to the main island connected with the very famous bridge Skeppsholmsbron aka the crown bridge that you can see on Stockholm postcards. In skeppsholmen there are museums like Moderna museet, church, and a ship-hostel. It's a really nice place for a stroll.

It is a bit off the beaten track for tourists and "natives" of Stockholm but it´s an island right in the middle of Stockholm perfect for strolling, biking and just take in the beautiful views of the capital!

This is a great place to go out for a walk around in the golden winter light either between museums or just to stretch your legs.

This is where the locals seem to go for a walk, with plenty to see and some nice views... the modern art museum is also located here.
