Stockholm's Canals are so gorgeous. The rushing water running through them sounds great while walking alongside, and the walking bridges from island to island are nice when going on foot throughout the city.

the canals add to the charm of Stockholm though many northern cities have them. The stops of the boats are usually in interesting areas of the city and not far from other areas of interest.

its worth to take especially in June when the sun is up for so long and you can admire the city from the water side. In July and August you can watch the sunset from the boat.

I hired a package that was bus+boat, really worth it. The boat is super nice...really if you are in Sweden you've got to sail...you'll go from the fjord to the lake (there's a gate there)...really go for it, you'll see how the actual locals hang out in the summer right there in the city!

Loved riding on the canal. The scenery was beautiful and the history so interesting. Would do this again if ever back in the city.

Take either a local ferry ride just to get around, or better yet take a 1 hour tour of the canal/harbor area. This is Stockholm, which is built over 14 islands. You'll get cool city views as well as a tour past water-edge housing, restaurants and shops.

Walk around the harbor on a sunny Sunday morning is absolutely wonderful. The view from the opposite side of the buildings is something I'll never forget. An espresso with cognac at a Cafe makes it better...

Stockholm by far is my favorite european city. The Venice of the north. The Swedish royals urban designers put great thought to how their capitol city should look. And city plan works, it's a beautiful city. The Swedish are very conscientious about having the cleanest water and water way in the world. Their canals are typically litter free year around.

This is highly recommended for all. The boat ride was really thrilling and we did not get exhausted as there was no walking involved. The vast expanse of the water had a calming effect and it felt wonderful in Poseidon’s lap.
