It's less about the garden and more about the statues/sculptures. It was peaceful and laid back. A nice break from the city bustle. From our hotel, we had to take the metro and then we walked for about 30 minutes. According to google maps, there was a bus we could take, but we decided to walk. It was a really... More

Neither my wife nor I are big sculpture fans, but we were both enchanted by the grounds, sculptures and displays at the Millesgarden. The gardens perfectly complement the moving yet fun sculptures. There is a popular café on site. It can be easily reached by subway/bus. This was our favorite sight in Stockholm. If we lived near Stockholm, we would... More

We didn't expect to find such a beautiful place. We got there very early and had to wait at the nearby hotel but we could enjoy the peace of the place with very few visitors. This house and garden is so beautiful. And the statues are really great, specially the hand of God! Pity that, in front, there's a huge... More

It was 40 years since my last visit, but well worth coming back! This is a peaceful place with pleasing statues and views - it is all about good art and class! Allow at least a couple of hours to take it all in. There is a good café; not particularly cheap, but then you are in Stockholm (well, actually,... More

Fairly easy to get to from Stockholm centre, take the underground to Ropsten then walk across the bridge to Lidingö, enjoying the views along the way. The grounds combine landscaped Italian-inspired gardens, steps, fountains and courtyards, and the house rises above in a beautiful sun-facing position. The original preserved rooms are gorgeously decorated and furnished, complimenting the impressive collection of... More

Millesgarten is a bit out of the way unless you're a sculpture enthusiast/fan. Does provide a great view of the bay and the city. About 700m walk (some mild hills) from the closest frequent bus stop. Free with Stockholm Card.

This is a little gem on the island of Lindingo. The garden has a wonderful view over the city and is full of Carl Milles sculptures. The place has a lovely ambiance and is worth the extra effort to get there from the centre of Stockholm.

This is a small but perfectly formed outdoor sculpture park. Getting to the park involved a train ride to Ropsten and a bus ride- so it isn't the easiest of places to get to. Worth that little bit of extra effort though and some of the sculptures defy gravity. An excellent way of spending 2 hours. There is also a... More

This place was terrific. Full of whimsical flying figures in the sky. Their contemporary exhibition space is also excellent and worth a visit.
