It is somewhat diffictul to write a review of this place. The building from 1866 is a reason to go--it is stately with steep steps, alot of marble, very high ceilings--a really beautiful place. The art work is good, but not world class. There are minor works by a number of famous artists--Goya, Ribera and many French impressionist artists--Renoir, Pizarro,... more

I loved this museum, although the fact that it only opens at 11 could be problematic if you don't have much time in the city. The entrance hall features some amazing frescoes by Carl Larsson, and the first floor contains a fascinating walk through Swedish furniture. china and glass, ending with a stunning selection of more and more modern exhibits.... more

A lovely modern art museum, worth a visit. It's not a huge collection, but still plenty to see with a selection from 1900 - 1970 (with the usual attractions pf Matisse, Warhol etc to keep you entertained). The building itself is a really pleasant space with lots of seating areas and some huge picture windows in the galleries looking out... more
