This is a stunning place. A warship that sank in 1628 is raised and presented for view. Free tours help but are slow, cruise the museum on your own and read the signs about the ship. Simply amazing and not to be missed if you're in Stockholm! Buy a tourist card and you get free admission. Not to mention use... more

When you enter this museum you enter a tuned down lighted room in which you'll stand face to face with an warship from 1628 - the moment is breathtaking! The Wasa ship is truly one of the most impressive sights in the world. The museum itself is informative and there is activities for both kids an adults. Set a side... more

I was so impressed by this museum, from the content to the building itself. The museum houses a boat which was dredged up from the bottom of the harbour in Stockholm after laying there for 300 years, and it is 95% complete. It is a huge and very decorative ship and it is amazing. The museum adds lots of detail... more

I had never even heard of this museum. It house a perfectly preserved Swedish warship that sank in the early 1600's. Because of the brackish water in the harbor, it remained preserved. In fact, when they raised it, it was still seaworthy! All manner of items, even clothing, were preserved. It's a true window into the past. Allow a minimum... more

My spouse was totally dreading this museum (another boring ship...), but once we walked through the door he was amazed and I had to drag him out of there hours later. This museum was far better than expected. It is open until 8pm on Wednesdays and it is near the National Museum and it is right next to the Viking... more

They have created a truly fascinating museum centred on the salvaged and restored 17th century flagship, which had sunk on its maiden voyage. The museum provides a stimulating insight into life at the time and what it was like on board such a ship. Allow at least an hour or two to examine and discover, and you won't be disappointed.... more

This was quite possibly the most fascinating site I visited while staying in Stockholm. I was hoping that my excitement going into this museum wouldn't be shattered with disappointment, and it wasn't. The tour guides were very informative, and had some interesting facts. To see something from the seventeenth century so well preserved was a delight. Standing underneath it on... more
