Just awesome. One of the world's great parks inside an amazing city. Clearly you should go to Vasamuseet and Skansen while on Djurgarden, and maybe even the Abba museum. But you MUST walk around the entire island or ride a bike. It is simply gorgeous. You cannot believe you are in one of the most interesting cities in the world.... More

Beautiful, especially further east away from the crowds. Hire a bike and just ride around the island stopping where you like for coffee and a cake.

Amazing that a city can have a dedicated island for fun! Whether it be museums, a zoo or fairgrounds, Djurgarden is a must for all visitors to Stockholm. You can get a tram from Sergels Torg or a ferry from Slussen

We took a walk around the Djurgårdsbrunn canal on our first day in Stockholm and it was divine. Amazing views and birds. We loved it.

If you want a change of pace head to Djurgarden. It's a wonderful island that you can walk the entire length of. The few houses are there to be envied and conveniently located around the perimeter are some lovely cafes with views across the water. Take a morning and wander between them, stopping for a refreshing beer or coffee at... More

Djurgarden... is one of the most attractive places for me co-located to the center of Stockholm. During winter times you can enjoy silent spots, visit places like Tilska Galeriet, which offers very often world class photo exhibitions of contemporary photographers or the museums at the entry of the island like Nordiska Museet, Vasa Museet or the Biological Museet. During spring... More

A stunningly beautiful island just off downtown, filled with amenities and attractions for the entire family: exquisite parks, the Grona Lund amusement park, the Norsk Museet, the Vasa Museum and the ABBA Museum, to name a few. You can while away an entire day here and still not see everything. Everything is easilly walkable and there are ferry departures several... More

We took a ferry from Slussen on a cold blustery day. We spent it all at Skansen, the open air museum established in the 1890s. It has examples of how various classes lived in Sweden through history with excellent written guides and English speaking interpreters. There are examples of the native and domestic animals in beautiful habitats. A very special... More

Skansen and Djurgarden will always stay in my heart. The park was peacefull and full of green. Mothers and fathers with their children and a lot of wild animals (bears, wolves, etc). There is also a small aquarium in here.
