If one can call Djurgården - with its huge area - for a park, then it is probably one of the world's greenest and most beautiful urban parks. Walk along the canal, have a picnic or visit a café or a restaurant - and do not miss Skansen respective Vasamuset in the beginning of Djurgården!

This very green paradise for cyclists has its very own cycle paths that run around the island. Weather was great and the combination of green and water made our day!

Beautiful place where you can stroll as well as visit various museums. Here you can visit the Vasa Museum, Abba Museum, Nordic Museum and Skansen open air Museum.

This island is great. There's everything there to spend time alone, with family or friends. Several museums, amusement parks, walking and bycicle tracks, Skansen open-air museum. Tram n. 7 goes there and takes you around the island.

We went to Djurgarten primarily to see the Vasa Museum, which I have reviewed separately and highly recommend. All Swedish attractions come with relatively high fees compared to the US and it was no exception, but it was excellent. (The island itself does not have a fee, but all the attractions on it do have a fee.) We then went... More

I could have spent many days exploring this area. The vasa museum was the top for me but it was closely followed by all the other sights there are here.

The Vasa Museum was probably the site that we liked the most in Stockholm with the Nordic Museum next best (we saw many sites). Skansen was a different story, at least for us. This site has historical actors showing various trades of the late 1800's. This may be of interest to children. For adults, this may seem like theatrics. Also,... More
