Splendid, enormously large park right in the centre of Stockholm, surrounded by the sea, where you can go by tram. For a whole day or lazy sunny afternoon it is fabulous.

We found this park right opposite the Abba Museum when we went to visit it. It's a great park to roam around in and there's an animal part, inside and outside. The main part of the park is up a hill but they even provide an escalator to get you there so no heavy walking. Great place to go to... More

The best way is to take the ferry that goes from close to Gamla Stan, towards Slussen; it's free with the SL card. You can walk around, then return with tram #7.

Spent a couple of hours before our flight home exploring this island-- cool mansions, pretty city views, an old zoo. Lots of morning runners/walkers getting their exercise in. Felt like Stockholm's version of our Central Park in NYC.

We had the stockholm pass that gave us a free ride from Sluseen ferry to Djurgarden. The garden itself was quite small in the island but well connected by ferry and tram to Gamla and Central Station. The island also houses an adventure park, the national musuem and the vasa musuem. There were a few old ships that were turned... More

The boat trip to Djurdarden is part of the experience in going to the palace. It's scenic and if you get the guide book and/or listen to the guide there are interesting facts and places to see along the way. The palace is interesting and the scheduled english guides are very good and knowledgeable. It's not a "grand" palace by... More

This area was a great place to just hang out and enjoy the beauty of Stockholm. There are paths all along the water and all through the well-kept grounds. We didn't explore any of the buildings and instead we just meandered around and fell asleep in the park. The area can be a bit tricky to get to using public... More
