Great island in the middle of Stockholm with lots of activities to chose from; museums, Rosandal with their gardens, cafés, eateries, amusement park. But if you don't want to do anything that is on offer Djurgarden offers a great setting for a walk or a run.

Favourite place for a morning walk or run in Stockholm! The long walk is about 7 - 8 km and is the perfect way to start or end your day. Either start your walk with a coffee to go from KMK or end your walk at Systrarna Voltaire which serves nice food and drinks.

If you are @ Djurgarden you gotta have a coffee at Rosengarten. Its kind of hard to find (look at internet), but there is a coffee right in the middle of a Rose garden. Its beautiful and peaceful!! Worthy a whole afternoon visit!!

Spend most of a Sunday at Djurgaardens open air museum Skansen. Something to see and do for the entire family from Nordic animals (Brown Bears, reindeer and seals) to 17th century camber music concert, and tones of historic displays. A must do in Stockholm for family travelers

The island itself is peaceful, with several of Stockholm's top attractions; namely, the Vasa Museum, and Skansen Open Air Museum. One can either get tram 7 from the centre to Djurgarden, or have a peaceful 20-25 minute stroll to the island. A must visit!

We spent 7 hours on this island and I think 3 days would he needed to get the most out of it. We managed to fit in Skansen ( for Aussies, it's a bit like Sovereign Hill but much greener and has a native animal zoo too), the Vasa museum and the ABBA museum. Very worth while.

The park is really big, so give it a whole afternoon. We strolled, we stopped and laid down on the grass and read a book, we even visited the greenhouses. You can have lunch in the greenhouses, it looked really chic, but we missed the lunch hours. It really seems like Djurgarden is a part of a different world, you... More

This island has a lot of stuff to do here. Including vasa museum, a park, cultural events, and an amusement park. Very beautiful area so you should certainly check it out if you are here during the summer.

Djurgarden, once the king's deer park, is one of the most beautiful and most varied parks in the world, yet you go into it from urban Stockholm. There are walking trails, a great many of them, through wooded areas, along a canal, and by the side of the Baltic. Cafes and museums are scattered through it. There's no better place... More

Djurgården, Stockholm is the perfect green area situated very close to the center of the city. It has everything, in the summer nice strolls along the water and plenty of museums for all tastes and interests. In the winter a good place for cross country skiing (if there is snow) and even some downhill (not the Alps!, but great for... More
