Take a drive around Fårø, the landscape, the coast, the old fishers village, the great formations made by the sea - it is an excuisit experience. This is Ingemar Bergmans country, where he lived and worked for many years.

Easy and quick to get there from Gotland/Farosund, takes 5 mins by the ferry (free), operated every half an hour, in summer more often. I visited on the west coast the incredible rock formations mainly which was the top attraction of our visit to Gotland. Went by car around the west coast in the afternoon and stopped at Gamla Hamn...

If you are a Bergman fan, do not miss visiting Faro, Gotland in Sweden, on Wednesdays there is a Bergman safari and they will take you around this beautiful island to places where some of his films were shot, Persona, Shame, Through the Glass Darkly, among them. Have lunch at the cozy Wild Strawberries cafe at the Bergmancenter.
