We walked from the parking area up the back side of the cliffs, known as the Pilgrim Trail. It took us approx 1.5 hours to the summit and 45 minutes down. The trail is intermediate to expert proficiency. Sturdy shoes are helpful. The hike is well worth it. The Vistas are spectacular with a 360 view. Highly recommended.

When I told a friend I was heading to Donegal for a few days the first thing she told me was to see the Slieve League Cliffs. We went there on Monday and we were not disappointed! To describe it in one word - STUNNING To get there take the N56 from Donegal towards Killybegs...it's well signposted from Donegal....Once you are... More

What an amazing view! As beautiful as The Cliffs of Mohr but less touristy! There is plenty of parking and you can walk ALL the way up if you LOVE to hike! But you can also open the gate and DRIVE all the way up and park at the top! We did the latter. On the day we went it... More

Great view of the sea cliffs with an optional hike up onto the cliffs themselves. The hike takes between 1 and 2 hours depending on your ability whilst if you don't want to hike you can drive all the way up to the lower viewing point and eat ice-cream. There is also a hike up from the lower car park... More

Taking an afternoon to chase these majestic heights, makes a wild afternoon trip from Donegal. It is about 1 hour from this city and well marked all the way out. On a clear day out you can see all the way to the shores of Mayo! There is a small gate at the lower parking lot, and you CAN drive... More

To Tell The Truth....these were not on our radar screen!!! Our taxi driver Marie in Donegol told us not to miss them. She gave us specific directions to get there and told us not to park at the first car park but just open the gate and pass thru....do not forget to put it back as found since it is... More

Staying in Donegal we had a look at the map which the hotel provided and decided to set off to view slieve league on a beautiful sunny day. We were driving for quite sometime and drove through Killybegs and continued to follow the signs, however, approx 30 minutes later, still driving, however at this point we were driving aimlessly looking... Enjoyed an excellent small bus tour here in May 2013 organised by Killybegs Tourist Information. The views are spectacular, view point accessible and plenty of paths to explore in the area. The countryside around was beautiful, carpets of bluebells growing on open ground, I had always thought of bluebells as a woodland plant up till now. A really fabulous place.

These cliffs are truly magnificent. You do not appreciate their size until you are standing at the viewing point, and suddenly realise the tiny specks at the top of them are people. You can go through the gate at the first car park area, and drive to a car park near the viewing point. Some older people we met did... More

Been there in hte evening in a mostly cloudy night. The sun light through the clouds made it even more amazing. I drove to Croaghlin where I left the car (road was closed at that point) and walked from there up to where is an old parking lot. It was windy but nice, I know that might not sound right... More
