On a sunny September day, we had this entire castle mostly to ourselves. Room after room of attractive and interesting decor, incredible public spaces, very pleasant formal garden area with pretty lake, great photo ops with surrounding moat. A very friendly and educated docent hung around us for most of our visit and offered fascinating tidbits of information from time... more

We were visting this beautiful castle in July 2002. The sprawling castle has a magnificent interior of gilded ceilings, wall sized tapestries, paintings, and antiques. For me, the ceilings were my favorite with cheribs hanging from the ceiling, beautiful paintings and carvings. Don't forget your camera!
