Kronborg is definitely worth the trip up from Copenhagen-- it can easily be accessed by public transit and a 15-20 min walk up to the castle. We caught the train from Copenhagen Central to Helsinger and had a magical trip through the countryside with the snow falling. Chose the right day for atmosphere to see this! It was freezing rain and intense winds all around. Still had a wonderful time, even in the "casements" which go on forever! This castle offers exciting history as well as excellent location. Take a walk around the castle and watch Sweden across the sound just 5 km away.
